Can someone please tell this guy, and every other podcaster and YTer, that just like the action on a guitar you need to give the microphone space to breathe. You don't need to swallow the microphone brother. Keep it basically a fist away from your mouth at minimum. I often wonder about these musicians who don't have an ear for this or even basic knowledge. Sigh.

For everyone saying "real amps kick ToneX ass" : I disagree. At least in regards to recorded and PA live sound. To me, they're so damn close you'd NEVER be able to tell the difference unless someone told you. Now, standing in a rehearsal space, a real amp and cab is going to literally feel different. It will move more air than most FRFRs. You'll actually feel it shake your chest and move hair on your legs. It will be louder. But, again, once both are miked (or DIed) through a PA, you'd never know the difference. And for a very, very, very small fraction of the price. Just my humble opinion.
@galtonestudio29 күн бұрын
@@dasfette thanks a lot for a comment, you are not alone :) I did +1000 profiles for Kemper/ToneX and it is obvious, you can get the same tone as as miced Amp/Cab. For the last 5 years i was Fortunate enough to have a regular studio with live and Control room so comparing miced cab and simulation was very easy. And well... They were always pretty much the same. Even in null tests it was so close that NO ONE would notice. But let's be honest, how many people recorded their tube amps even Once in a studio? Or played outside of their home on bigger stage? Not too many. So they are comparing what they know to miced tones which sound "digital" because they can't compare that to anything :)

Thanks for the videos! I love the tones I get from my Tonex1 - but the way the software works, and how it routs audio in "real time" is a HUGE limitation. Basically, there is NO WAY AT ALL to put the Tonex1 pedal into true bypass mode to enable real-time editing. You can't use the Tonex1 as just a simple audio interface. How stupid is that??? I ended up doing what you did in option 1, otherwise, the Tonex1 pedal and the software are BOTH active at the same time, and you get your model, twice! It's such a bad software interface, honestly.... For something that sounds so good, and is not cheap, the Tonex software is appalling.

It also feels like bloatware to use (same as Bias FX) very slow to start, c’mon guys..

Hello again. So when the pedal isn’t plugged into the computer I cannot browse the 20 presets?. When using the pedal only I have a choice between 3 slots?
@steveinman1512Ай бұрын
It looks like you typically can chose the A/B mode (2 slots) or stomp mode (on/off, one slot), except that this video shows a clever trick I was unaware of, that lets you access three slots instead of 2. I saw another video where they showed a somewhat cumbersome way to select from the 20 presets that can be stored in the Tonex One, but there is no display other than the colors of the 3 micro knobs to indicate what you are selecting -- that and your ears. So you would need to use some clever combination of the colors you assign to various patches, or a clever ordering of the 20 memory slots, as a mnemonic device, to help you find what you want. However, this procedure is a bit time consuming -- slower than simply stomping the foot switch.

Hi, how do you connect your guitar an pc and set the audio settings to hear both what is on your computer and on the padel?
@steveinman1512Ай бұрын
I'm not certain yet, but this may be helpful: Once you download and install the Tonex SE software, you will find an icon in the upper right corner of the main display window (3 parallel, horizontal lines). When you click this, the pop-up window that appears has an "Audio Settings" tab that has options which appear to control these settings. I believe you can select "the right options" (whichever these are), then plug your guitar into your Tonex, and (hopefully), the sound will then come out of your PC speakers. Use good monitor speakers for better results. Good luck, and please reply back here if you find this to work for you, so others will know my guess is correct.
