The power of the engine and the hydraulics to make all that weight move is just amazing. I am going to have to look at the cranes specifications to see engine size, overall weight, etc. Another great video.

VERY expensive, disruptive construction project because State Govt (both Labour and Nats) was asleep at the wheel for decades. City planners generally forewarn about infrastructure growth needs, but polis ignore it cause it's not "sexy" enough. For what's it's worth, this are not improvements, but hygiene and simply bringing infrastructure up to standard. Well done to the on site team.

I wnat to know why the design of the beams and support structures different from each other according to location. For example, the support structures and beams from Carlisle to Oats street are different to the ones at Cannington, which are different again to the ones near Armadale. Is Metronet running engineering experiments to see which are better?

Planks? its called a bridge span, they are pre-cast in Perth and then truck to site, then lifted into place at night with multiple cranes.
@laurencejames7948
@laurencejames7948 Ай бұрын
@@jasonswift7098 Most of the beams were precast by Humes at the old Midland Brick site at Bellevue and transported to site mainly in the nigh time when traffic isn't so busy. Not sure where these bridge spans are cast but it is my guess they are also being made at Bellevue though using the old Cardup brickworks would make sense

YES it will be kept as a level Crossing as the line will be the same as it was not Elevated from Beckenham Station to Sherwood Station and then it gets Elevated until it leaves Armadale Station and goes down again all the way to Byford

i worry about all that pressure on a small lip of the beam on top of the pier. it is obviously enough or they wouldnt be doing it. this method of skyrailing has been used in melbourne so i know it works. it looks like one end will be solidly joined to the adjoining beam and the top of the pier with wet concrete. expansion is allowed for in the far ends of the 2 beams where the rubber bearings are.
