Two brews in with Novalager and I'm unconvinced. Flavour profile is great, fermentation time is enviable, temperature flexibility is a big plus, but I don't seem to be able to get it to flocculate like, say, Diamond lager yeast. I cold crash and then add Biofine to all my beers and always have crystal clear beer in three or four days. My Novalager brews are the only ones that break this rule. For my curent Helles lager, I gave up waiting after seven days and kegged it with haze. Two weeks on, I can barely see my fingers through the glass whereas other yeasts would look polished at this stage. Any tips/ideas?

When is the maltodextrin added? Thinking of giving this a go as our homebrew are being provided with free MM yeast here in Ireland from whc and the winning beer gets brewed commercially by Lineman brewing... Thanks 🤘🏻🍺

@@liammcdevitt3303 last 5 -10 minutes of the boil although I don’t think it really matters if you add it earlier, draw off some wort and dissolve it in a jug before adding back in is the easiest method and avoids it clumping together and sticking to stuff

Nice video. Just placed an order for some Superdelic. Gonna do a Kveik with 100% Superdelic. I’ve been trying to keep a Kveik on tap with a single hop focus all summer. Did Mosaic and have a Nectaron fermenting at the moment. Probably do the Superdelic Kveik in a week or two. 🍻

would It not be better to soft crash the yeast and then dry hop, rather than blasting the yeast up into solution again? yeast will capture hop oils and draw them down during crashing.

Hi. Thanks for your review, which (along with others) convinced me to buy an iTap. Just one question about the little red inserts that support the rotating collar that grips the bottles - are there supposed to be two in place, or just one? When I unboxed mine, one of the red inserts was in place, with another loose in the box. I wondered if it was a spare... but should it be fitted? Thanks again.

I'm actually looking at building a keezer as we speak and funny enough my choice seems to be between these 2 taps! Where I stay for a full nuka ss assembly is about 3 times the price of the alternative meaning my 4 Nuka SS would cost more than the rest of the build! Sadly this may mean that despite the pros I may have to take the same route you did! Great video thanks🎉

Hi, I have recently purchased this kit from the MM and looking forward to brewing it, very much. My question is, as I only ever use the "no chill cube" method, can I bypass the hopstand and do a dry hop instead? Any issues you can forsee? Congrats on the award, by the way.
@DudesBrews26 күн бұрын
Dry Hop could potentially give a fairly different result (not necessarily bad), I would just put the hops in at flameout using bags so you can remove them and do a shorter stand due to higher temp maybe 10 mins, it will still be plenty hot enough to sanitise the cube if you transfer after that

That's great info. Thanks so much for your swift reply. Really appreciate it.

Harvey's yeast came from Yorkshire and has been used since 1957 and they certainly use open top fermenters.

Hi Richard, just trying this recipe at home. First time I have tried fermenting at 34C and frankly my heat belt for the fermenter is not up to the job. Despite my efforts the temp is now hovering around 26C. Any thoughts on how this will impact fermentation please?

Any dankness or earthiness v US hops. I don't want any earthiness in a NEIPA.
@DudesBrewsАй бұрын
It did have a slightly earthy english hop character as I remember and I wouldn’t say it was particularly dank either, I know some people have used it in NEIPAs but it wouldn’t be something I would consider tbh

How do you dry hop with this? I've found even the funnel into the port blocks when dry hopping 200g+ of hops, and so wondering what you are doing to ease my issues!
@DudesBrewsАй бұрын
No way round that other than pouring them in very slow with the funnel or just popping the lid and chucking them in quickly, tbh I don’t worry that much about oxygen exposure while dry hopping with either method as long as I do a good flush with co2 afterwards

I got exactly the same as you from it terms of aroma, flavour and overall thoughts. Maybe the most unique hop I’ve had in a good while. Needs pairing but a welcome change from status quo. I can see why some wouldnt like it with perceived artificial fruit candy flavours. I love it though. Will try and pair it with something like an Idaho7 or Chinook and maybe another citrus hop maybe to round out those flavours.

Goes really well with nectaron. Superdelic adds a bit of jazz on the tongue, and the sweet flavours mask a drier beer, so a great addition if using yeast enzymes that dry out a beer.

@DudesBrews2 ай бұрын
Hi Gareth! Yes I really enjoyed the flavour but was expecting it to be much more intense, I think Eldorado is a good comparison, pricing is a bit steep for Superdelic if its going to be best playing a supporting role tbh
