If DG was running the team like before the Donovan trade, he is much higher ranked than this, even if he had been injured same as he was. This is a byproduct of his lackluster season, not an indicator of his skill level in a better setting. Him and Mitchell can play to together because they are both so dynamic, but neither can stay healthy doing it the way they are, and DG has to go somewhere else to get back to his elite ceiling trajectory.

I think DG should be an 84 consider a down year Mobley, Allen and Mitchell are ranked appropriately imo
@sandybeachsean68802 күн бұрын
Per the 2K 25 Rankings he is the 4th best player on the team (Mitchell 93, Mobley 86, Allen 86, Garland 82). In how he played last year I would have to agree. There is no reason to cry about it and if he just balled out then his ratings will change and more than likely the Cavs will have more team success.

Darius isn't as good as Cavs fans think he is. He's easily one of the most overrated players in the league.
@mspeedm5849Күн бұрын
He was overpaid on the potential, because that's what small market teams have to do to keep these guys. The problem is they then turned around and traded so much for another small guard who after signing the deal he just signed is on track to make half a billion. Think about that. DG is overrated as a running mate for Donovan, because DG is not the tier one guy without Donovan not being there. DG is not overrated if you go back to the lead dog he was the season right before they traded the farm for Spida. His injury plagued season didn't help either, but the real problem CLE has is he may never regain his trade value playing second fiddle out there. They really should have never traded for Mitchell after handing DG the bag. But no one can fault them for doing it if they can get a decent return for DG.
@Dream-----Күн бұрын
Get off the crack... 90% of NBA scouts rate DG above Brandon Ingram and 100% of scouts have Ingram rated above Mikel Bridges, so there's no way Garland is only an 82. You know nothing about the NBA, obviously.
@Dream-----Күн бұрын
@mspeedm5849 huh? Mitchell is not a 'small guard'- he has a 6 foot 10 inch wingspan and he can guard 1-4... he doesn't even look mismatched when switching onto centers. He's not a small guard...

Stop with the excuses. Good players adjust to playing with other good players.

@@Dream----- DG is a lead guard and is small and plays small. You take him off ball on offense and his mirror is always the guy he can't cover on the other end. When you have to constantly switch everything and the only guy out there with him has to defend above his weight class you wear him down. Mitchell can defend good, but he shouldn't have to cover for DG and DG should not have to play next to a guard that needs the ball same as him.

Garland is garbage and kills the team, he can stuff a stat sheet on a bad team but not a good team , cant mesh with Sexton or Mitchell.. Clevelanders are blind to this next fact, no matter how great he might be on offense his D and its so horribe the offense will never make up the defensive hole he causes.... Wish we could have traded him so the Cavs can be a normal size team, the two guards is dumb lol ... sorry its so true but everyone is blind to it, ya i guess Garland can have a comeback regular season, he is just to small for the playoffs unless he can shoot 50% from 3 I see him as a negative factor for the team..

@landonburgess72282 күн бұрын
I’m sorry but this isn’t right at all even as someone who likes the Cavs. NBA players who are 96 overalls have to be good at basically everything or be gifted in certain things, Donovan Mitchell can get you a get 25-30 a night with good playmaking but his defense holds him back. Darius Garland has decreased his efficiency and points and even assists numbers, he isn’t as great of a playmaker as he once was. That may be because of his team but he is also a poor defender. Evan Mobley is great at defense but his offense holds him back, so does Jarret Allen. Garland should be like an 84 maybe 85, Evan Mobley and Jarret Allen should each be an 86 maybe 87, and spida should be a 92-93

Doesn't seem to help the current roster much, but IMO his attraction is that he's only 21/22 years old but has played against top talent, although the results weren't spectacular. Try to develop him and cut the cord if it doesn't work out. Cavs are not very athletic so they need to look for guys like JT Thor. I was thinking Yabusele would be better for the Cavs but he's much older too.

The little bit of everything take is not going to age well, once they give this guy some reps. He is capable of taking over a game. Just watch the highlights when he dropped 28 on the Timberwolves. If the Cavs are smart enough, to let him be himself, like Utah was with Markannen who knows what he can do. Thor is a massive sleeper that nobody should be able to ignore soon enough. Don't forget Charlotte has been tanking for awhile now and his ability was shunted by it.

J.T Thor is a massive underrated pick up for Altman. Never got to see him much on a good team, but I believe his length and hops, and obvious shooting ability off the catch, make him a viable Wade backup or direct backup to Mobley this season. He is also the kind of player that could move over full time with the core 4 as a starting 3 if he shows he can play within KA system. Players of his archetype, if nothing more than end of bench optons, are much needed on that roster.
