Hi its a auto trail imala 615 on a 20 plate. The dealer to avoid is DON AMOTT LEISURE i beleive the vehicle to be back up for sale in less than a week.

sounds like a horrific experience I had with Barrons liesure. Got an Elldis firestorm off them brand new-one of their special editions. one week in and the side lockers fell off the roof. They had been screwed into the roof board and no brackets. The van had to be sent back to Elldis to be sorted-on a low loader which they expected me to pay for. I refused citing the sale of goods act. They took the van back. Two weeks later we had arranged to go to Cornwall in the van so I drove to the garage to fill the tank. as I drove to the garage , a series of lights came on including engine warning lights. I turned round, went home and rang Barrons. This van was now four weeks old, we'd done less than 300 miles in it and was going wrong again. Cutting a long story short, Barrons shied from responisbility, told me to take it to their service dealer in Preston- Glanden motors which I did. On the way there the speedo went, the tacho went and it went into limp mode. I literally drove there at 14 mph and it took two hours. when I got the van onto their compound the engine died. anyhoo, an hour later a chap came to me and said "bad news. Its catastrophic engine failure, needs repacing and purgeout is on shutdown for six months. Rang barrons, they wanted me to bring it to them but I pointed out it was undriveable. they then basically told me to **** off. So I rang the finance company, told them I was rejecting the van as it wasnt fit for purpose and what had happened and Barrons didnt want to know. The finance company went balistic, read barrons the riot act basically threatening to pull any future finance from them.. Then got asked to go in, ended up being offered the van I originally wanted- the bessacar E437 which was 7K dearer and as a "sorry" for what we'd gone through could have it at the same as the elldis. I accpted, was also given 5 year warranty and 500 pound cashback for the loss of our holiday. The e437 was brilliant til I sold it but its a lesson in how these firms take your money but dont give good customer service. BTw- just subscibed as I found you by accident. Much respect- Kenny

We had the same problems (Yorkshire Caravans at Bawtry), the service and aftercare is disgusting. Bought a brand new caravan, awning and all the gubbins to go with the caravan, paid for storage. First trip away fridge nearly on fire, second trip away water bowling through the front window, third trip electrics for towbar not working (last people to tow it were the dealers taking it from workshop on to storage), forth trip away no water of any sorts as pump was not working. Out of our 83 days ownership it spent 65 days in repair. After the leak incident we asked for a refund on the basis that the van was not fit for purpose, this was rejected as they had repaired it...same with the pump incident. My advice to you is....if your new van develops any problems then do not let them fix it..get a refund at that stage because they will con you out of your holidays while they take weeks to repair what should be a useable vehicle. BUYER BEWARE, according to Yorkshire Caravans you have no consumer rights...they are well practiced in avoiding liability for faulty goods.

Shame you had a bad experience with them, we purchased from them in Feb and they bent over backwards for us, we had multiple visits not knowing what we wanted and they was patient with us and helped guide us to the right van in the end. We had a pdi and run through inside as where they do all handovers, straight after it’s valet. I had a issue on the way home with the van, nothing to do with them and they have put it through warranty without me even asking as I thought it would have been my issue not there’s Thought I’d put my experience as I was very pleased Sometimes we get a run of problems like you’ve had, hopefully you’ll enjoy your van now

Bloody hell, ive been in tbe trade for 21 years thats shocking and never heard of stock being delivered befire type apprival either thats inept from the manufacturers and dealer

You must be the only one that I know of who's actually got one of these lovely vans. I have ordered an Alora from Yorkshire caravans its there waiting for paperwork. Hope I don't have the same treatment as you, up to now they have been ok.

I'm shocked at people parting with loads of money only to find they have bought a 🍋. The van has probably been in a accident " head light hanging off" did you to a hpi check !. Good look😮

We bought from Premium Motorhomes in Doncaster and they were excellent. Full working handover and immaculate presentation.

Won’t thieves just rip it off with the being on the outside. Having said that potentially that would set the alarm off if not on the one being tampered with one of the others! I thing I’ve just answered my own question haven’t I?

If the service was as bad as you say, you should have walked away. I doubt they'll do you any favours when it comes to after sales service or warranty repairs.

Hi just watched your video you state you.losr a few hundred pound. In 11 months off a well known dealer we have lost fifteen thousand. We brought a 2020 motorhome for sixty thousand need to sell back to dealer for medical and health reasons but they found a damp reading of 46 in 2 areas even though 11 months ago 2 months prior to purchase when we was told 2 days the damp report only stated 14 and 15 . Unbelievable we have looked after our van and followed all cleaning instructions. We are devastated fifteen thousand pound lost in 11 months. Hope this makes you feel a little better. Same as us we ordered a new Warwick xl couldn’t get me one 3 months later ended up buying a new autosleeper Broadway EK so we didn’t loose our deposit 2 weeks into ownership leaked in through window then noticed light from outside bleeding in had to go back to factory for trims on walls also floor delaminated had to be pumped full of resin made a mess big humps in floor and new awning light hanging off and damaged the rear panel 6 months later they gave me a new van changed over battery to 100amp and didnt put new terminals on properly then damaged habitation door 😡

Glad you’re sorted but I would’ve voted with my feet and not handed a penny over to them. If people keep buying from them they won’t change.

100% sympathy for what happened, but at the same time, take a kick up the backside for not checking Trustpilot because if you had you would have seen that 83% of their customers are dissatisfied with them.

I am absolutely amazed that in this day and age with the power of social media that companies are not more savvy on how deal with the general public. Bad service goes viral and if I see somewhere I was thinking of dealing with gets bad press I avoid them. It’s the same with eBay the first thing I look at is the feedback.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Contact MDG, MOTORHOME DEALER GROUP. They are in Hampshire and Dorset. They only deal in used lovely vans, worth the drive and maybe stay over. 97.2% of customers who gave them a gold award can't be wrong. We bought from them again just 4 weeks ago, just arrived home on Friday from a lovely holiday with 2 minor glitches. Phoned them, and now our van is already back being made perfect. You can't beat that for service!!

I would have been off like a shot being treated that way. After service will not be good be prepared 😢😢😢😢

Wishing you nothing but good luck, but wondering how your going to get it registered if it does not have Type approval yet? Are you actually aware of what Type approval is? It could be approved to be used on UK roads but that does not guarantee it can be used on EU roads and vice versa since brexit.

We bought our motorhome from Dolphin in Hampshire and they were absolutely brilliant. They have messaged us a few times since to make sure everything was ok and did we need any help with anything. The service and after service has been fantastic. Would highly recommend to any one

We've been in the market to buy a motorhome this past couple of months & have visited numerous dealers in the country. General customer service has been shocking, especially considering we've been ready to buy as soon as we see the one we want. Some disinterested, some rude, some bullies etc. We eventually decided on one from a Yorkshire dealer who face to face promised a new Habitation check, new Mot & full service before us collecting some days later. We came away & asked if they would put that in writing & then we would pay a hefty deposit immediately. Guess what, we never got those particulars in writing, all we got was. 'The van is what it is, do you want it or not' So we took it that we couldn't trust them & we continue to look for another. It must be said, that there have been two particular dealers that have been fantastic in all ways, they just haven't had what we're looking for.

How did your meeting go with them?

We've just put down a holding deposit with Granthams (Grantham) on a new ex-demo caravan that we love, however we had the same first impressions as you did with the layout and presentation of the site. The caravans are stored very closely together with limited access and this one had gained quite some green build-up from storage. The compacted caravans make it difficult to clean whilst being stored and not great for display purposes, we were re-assured that the van would be cleaned and PDI'd before collection. Just come across your vlog and starting to feel that my initial instinct could be right! :-(

Sad to say I'm not surprised. Too much to type but we were lucky as we had been burned with a private sale previously so looked into things a lot more than we had previously. The saleswoman just bare faced lied to us and even when confronted tried to pass the buck. Every van we looked at was in a disgraceful condition. We wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. So sorry you had all this trouble.

Hope you get sorted I myself have recently bought a motor home from Granthams and we’re very happy with it as we haven’t had any issues 🤞we snagged a few items when we went to view and those were sorted by the time we collected it and I have to say they gave us a fantastic part ex price for our caravan which was even more than I could achieve selling it privately (which I tried on eBay and facebook) our only grumble would be that the cleaning job carried out wasn’t great so we went through it before our first trip that aside so far so good

Hi, I hope things have worked out for you as they have treated you very badly. Any updates.

Golden rule if you gonna spend more than £20k on a van then you get a full hab check done by an approved service engineer who is a member of the caravan club. Will cost you about £140 but will point out any defects that the dealer should fix and save you a load of stress and heartache.

Very sad, it’s a lot of money to be mistreated. Hope it all works out.

You have the right to reject the vehicle under the sales of goods in the first 28days, stating it is not of merchantable quality as the vehicle has inherent faults. I did this with a van. And got my money back.

This is terribly disappointing and I’m afraid not uncommon. The dealer won’t be interested, the manufacturer won’t be interested. The law is your only recourse. Please, please, please consider buying second hand and having a full examination carried out by a registered repairer. I speak from the bitter experience having bought a new Elddis Affinity which suffered much the same problem as you are experiencing. I hate with a maniacal hate, the dealer in Somerset and the rude, ignorant and indolent people at Elddis. Between them it soiled what should have been a wonderful time. Time I can’t get back. My advice is to go at the dealer with all the force and might of the law. Spare no quarter. Good luck.

really feel for you both since 2015 had 4 caravans all these dealers deserve to go under they just do not give a toss , once the money as been handed over that is it i do all the jobs myself now, the warranty not worth the paper its written on god help you buying another one .

I am in the market for an adventure van but these guys sound like a complete bunch of cowboy w*****s i will certainly cross off the viewing list. Good video mate
