Bought my 1st stetson in 6x caribou open road just like the ones you have. Deluxe is a bit more on price, to where the 6x is stiffer is a work hat/dress. I went with the 6x because it will age to become flexible and hold that great look.. must say it continues after buying just one stetson.. ended up buying the Yancy(phantom Grey) the Los Alamos (straw) the Markham fedora (crushable wool,black) and most likely will buy more. The whippet and stratoliner for casual dress on my dates with the wife and family. Awesome set of hats for all the seasons!

The 6x holds its shape longer, but takes longer to brake in. It’s also slightly more expensive, and was told it has little more beaver fur, which why it repels rain better.

I think the Akubra Campdraft is better. It's the exact same dimensions, nicer felt and less stiff than the cardboard feel of the thin 6x. Also comes open crown, usually in stock and half the price.

Hello there you dont need to dry box in and out your cigars within the Humidor just make sure that they are not sitting at the humidity that it is soo high that it would start to cause mould. Now if the humidity is higher and it affects smoking before you smoke cigar just take it out of humidor 1 hour before smoking and leave it outside somewhere it will smoke just fine and as for the rest of the cigars well higher humidity perfect for aging so its win win as long as it is not some sort of mould humidity.

I wish to get back in that style, however, more nights out, than working today. My dilemma, like yours between 7 and 7 1/8, Iam a 7 3/8 or 7 1/2. I wish to wear up, or down but prefer a hardier hat. Will the 6x snap up or down if the 7.5 is on the bigger side? Or should I 7 3/8 a royal drluxe?

yooo! so here’s a story :) this happened yesterday and today! i work for a concert venue in Houston, Tx and an artist named Stephen Sanchez performed an outdoor show yesterday. Sold Out show! it rained and it was cold, but that didn’t stop Stephen Sanchez from wearing a snazzy cowboy while he performed, and he bought it specifically because he was performing in Tx. today i had to back to work to clean up and set up for a private event. and well, i found the hat’s box. it had the plastic and the foam. it was a a black Stetson Open Road Royal Deluxe size 7. it looked soooo amazing, so i had to find out! and well, i’m here now :) but i can’t afford it. thank you still! just in case i “treat yo’ self” one day 🤙🏼 yeehaw

Those eyes lol I have my cigars in a glass container with lock & lock lid and have the container half submerged in a very cold water. That keeps the temp inside the jar around 72 to 73 degrees in my mid 80 degree apartment. Still a little higher than optimal but better than an mid 80s container with humidity. I also put ice packs in the water to keep it cool for longer and just replace the packs every few hours. More work than just living in a cooler apartment but I kinda enjoy the chore of checking the temp in the jar, changing water and the ice packs for my cigars and so on. It's theraputic imo.

Oval R is ""Round Oval" rather than Oval L which is "Long Oval". Long Oval is a longer oval shape, compared to the rounder oval shape. Traditional cowboy hats are available in both.

Put some salt in a teabag and put it in your humidor. Sucks the moisture out of them in no time.

You helped me decide which hat to get , it’s my first open road hat I’ve been wearing stetson Cowboy hats for the past 28 years due to a band I play in , but I have decided to get the deluxe a more relaxed feel and my head is between a 7 and a 6 7/8 so I think it will work out better not to mention that I like the leather band better than the black band.

The Stetson Open Road is so stylish because it's short, concise and neat. It has a very sharp, clean look, as opposed to the big, wavy cowboy hats which I think are too sprawled out and messy looking. A good, classic "Trooper hat" like a Stetson Open Road makes for a very handsome, clean-cut look.

I own both and personally prefer the 6x but the 10x straw version is my favorite open road.

Yeah all great but Stetson is it so hard to get these hats to Stetson Europe. Well I guess yea. Since there are literally none of these hats available. Wish I could get an open road. Next time I’m in America lol buy one for sure. Once they let un jabbed tourists in.

I actually think that boot is all cemented and those stitches are just aesthetical. Maybe this boot is for people looking to try boots just to see if they can pull off the style without breaking the bank. Ofcourse that is just my opinion and I am not a boot expert. But they are good looking boots. Take care.

This is a clinic on how not to handle a $250 hat. Unless you want your greasy fingerprints all over your beautiful hat...only handle it by the edges. Comfortability...ha ha. Trivia...Royal Deluxe is better quality felt than the six x.

6x is “western felt” whereas the Royal Deluxe is the same type of felt used in dressier hats like the Whippet , Stratoliner, etc.
