Nice video. I think, 80L board it's small for a begginers.
@Windsurfcoach2 күн бұрын
@@rscaneable I agree! It worked for me, but that 80L board absolutely didn’t make it any easier. There are more stable and much easier boards to start with on the market. I would now advise a longer, wider board with a volume of at least own weight + 40L.

Do cam sails make the duck Jibe harder than the normal Jibe?
@Windsurfcoach8 күн бұрын
Hi Premed, yes. Non camber sails go "neutral" when not loaded and therefor are light in the sail flip. Camber sails are much heavier and always keep their profile which will make them powered up as soon as there is any apparent wind. Besides that the camber sails have a lager foot which makes it more difficult to get around while "ducking" (switching sides). I recommend learning the duck jibe preferably with non camber sail with a relative high foot if that is possible. Of course if you only have camber sails don't let it hold you back and just go for it!! Have fun and... See you on the water!!

Thank you! It was quite challenging and the best advice I can give you is ... Use a board with enough volume (your weight + at least 40). It should also be a board that's able to get up to speed easily and preferably is a bit longer. Start with something like a 2000 cm2 foil beginners foil. It's quite a rewarding journey, so have fun and... See you on the water!

Ideaal! Tot op het water!

Hi, great video. A question, sometimes I see windfoiler (iQfoilers) standing with the back foot infront of the footstrap. Why do they do this?
@Windsurfcoach21 күн бұрын
Hi Mats, thank you! In windfoil racing you are looking for a comfortable stance and control. As most of the regular iQfoil racing is sailing up- & downwind the foil will be pretty powered which can also be seen by how far the foilers are hanging off to the front while in their harness. To have more pressure on the front of the board when going on a deep downwind course you can place your backfoot out of the back strap and in front of the strap (and to the inside) to have a comfortable stance and be able to keep the board level. In this situation you will be going relatively fast without having much pressure in your sail. I also use it as well sometimes when pointing so it's easier to have a more upright stance, but when really pushing across or just slightly off the wind I prefer to use both straps for maximum control. I don't do much course racing on the foil, but mostly slalom, so maybe the iQfoilers on the channel how are reading this can complement. See you on the water!!!

Hi. Nice video - not many videos using transport-friendly boards/sails. How does it handle the chop? Is it stiff enough in crossing the waves?
@Windsurfcoach25 күн бұрын
@pkundrat, thank you! These boards are quite interesting, but also have their limitations. One of those limitations is chop.... I found lack of stiffness compared to the hardboard noticeably reduces the speed and increases the power required to continue planing. In flat water it performs pretty good, but maybe I should do an extensive test video in the future about this subject. There are also semi hard inflatables on the market and these might just perform better while stil being transport friendly. See you on the water!!
@pkundrat25 күн бұрын
@@Windsurfcoach That still sounds rideable - not as good as rigid but still usable. For compact board i would be willing to sacrifice some performance as i would not travel with the hard board at all. Friend of mine rides STX and he told me that it was folding in the waves, so wasnt usable at all. Which brands do semi hard inflatable? I was looking into Sunova - in 2019 they were promising foldable Carbon Compact aka twopiece construction for all their boards - was asking them what is the status of that - they didnt reply to my query yet.
@Windsurfcoach24 күн бұрын
@@pkundrat , it is rideable in chop. I haven't tested it in waves yet so I can't tell you how it behaves there. DUO WIND is a board by @duo-boards which is partly hard and partly inflatable. Also very interesting concept. (Is on my wish list to test for you guys). Hope you have a shop near by that will let you test boards before making a decision (like vandenbergsurf.nl in the Netherlands does). Have fun and... See you on the water!

Why so big gap betwen boom end and sail ?
@Windsurfcoach25 күн бұрын
Hi Justelis, Windfoiling I use quite a large adjustment range for the outhaul especially in varying wind conditions to make the most of the natural range of the sail. In this shot I have a deeper profile and so the gap is a little bigger. I rather have a cm too much than too little as that would limit my trim range. Have fun and... See you on the water!

Mooie video, jammer van de crash. Vraag aan je: ik vaar op een 1300 superflyer foil. Deze stijl van varen is dat ook mogelijk met die oppervlakte of moet ik kleiner voor dat. Dank je
@Windsurfcoach27 күн бұрын
Have fun en.... Tot op het water!

@WindsurfcoachАй бұрын
Hi Carmelo, I'm using the older slamom version of the X15 in the width 81cm. This board is great for slalom with sails up to 8.0. I also use it with 9.0 and a 90cm wide 850 cm2 frontwing, but for the bigger sail sizes I would recommend a wider board (around 90cm). I almost never use a course race setup, but I expect you would want the wider boards 90-100cm for that. Have fun flying over the water and... See you on the water!!!

Totally agree if you are fit enough to mange a large sail without busting your shoulders and knees. As I’m getting older, recovery time is a factor and while I like ridding my Falcon Lightwind under my NP V8 9.4, it is definitely a workout my body has a harder time to cope with. Great video.
@WindsurfcoachАй бұрын
Hi Whynowind, thank you! Aging and windsurfing..... Recovery time is absolutely not getting any shorter with the years unfortunately, but I guess we'll all just continue windsurfing as long as the body will allow. It's just such a joy you don't wanna miss out on. But in preparation for the day you can no longer wrestle the 9.4 any more you could already start foiling or winging occasionally so you have it in your system and can still be on the water as you get older. Windfoiling and winging are less physical and still allow you to go on the water on those light wind days as well. Have fun and... See you on the water!!

Hi, I tried mine with my Liberty harness on foil. I normally go with really long lines for speedruns. I had serious issues to unhook these lines since they retain as I loosen the pressure and try to unhook. They kind of follow the hook uppward. Any tips on how to avoid this or will the plastic tube become better shaped after som hours?

Hi Mats, thank you for sharing your feedback. It's valuable info. I've had almost no such problems, but for me super long is something like 44 inch and I don't know what happens when you go al the way to 50. (my arms are too short for that 😂) I still use the Lisa lines to date btw. For me the lines that stayed in the same angle made it very predictable to hook in or out, but I can imagine that if you go all the way to 50 inch you might encounter the problem you've mentioned. Maybe at Lisa they have a solution for that. Keep pushing and... See you on the water!

Hi, thanks for your review, today I tried a 5.0 and was a really good wing, I had gusty conditions, even too much for a 5 and the wing was absolutely stable! Woow, I feel that loves to go upwind easily , and pull forward very nice. How would you compare it with a duotone slick, ? Thank you
@Windsurfcoach2 ай бұрын
Hi Diego, you are welcome. I didn't try the Flux in 5.0 and I've been told the 5.0 is supposed to be faster compared to the 5.7 I tested as the 5.7 was made to perform best in light winds. At Ozone they tried to give you a wing that performs well for the conditions you normally face with the chosen size. Overall if I compare the Flux 5.7 to the Slick 6.0 I used today the Flux is more stable and pulls harder in the same windspeed but has a lower topspeed. Personally I really like the Slick as it's so playful, light and fast but the playfulness of the Slick can also be the downside as it can be felt as nervousness. So if you're looking for a stable wing to get going in the lightest of airs and just cruise than go for the Flux, if on the other hand you are more into transitions, freestyle and some speed go for the Slick. Have fun and see you on the water!!
