I had a similar vessel. An Alberg 35 sweet boat. Go anywhere. Many of there boats have crossed many oceans. Small, short waterline, but very capable.

me and another guy sailed this is the Delaware Chesapeake. it was actually at night. the shore lights were very distant and we were sailing toward the ocean, it seemed. Horrible experience. out of nowhere, a small gust and you are capsized. we were capsized many times before we got back to shore. scary.

It’s so unfortunate when people decorate their boats with contrived nautical or beach themes. There’s nothing more lubberly.

@@YachtHunters thank you. I absolutely love your 43. If I wasn't too old I would be looking for one. My Dad had a couple of schooners when I was a youngster. A 55 and a 65 footer.

I really enjoy this channel and this old Sea Dog is about as real as it gets! The fire for sailing he lights inside of me is just beyond words! BTW notice the constant eye contact the guy in the red shirt always makes while listening but then suddenly at at 2:10 when the subject of getting drunk comes up he completely breaks eye contact and looks away. Me judging a book by a cover here would assume he doesn't get drunk or drink. 😂 If he doesn't well then good for him nothing wrong with that I just found that part amusing.

In 1963 I was a freshman at the Univ of Miami in Coral Gables. I had learned to sail on rented boats from Dinner Key marina which adjoins Biscayne Bay. For about $600 I bought a dark green Sunfish and had the time of my life sailing all around the Bay and some in the Keys. On one outing I met a bunch of guys in a racing sloop and they had huge natural sponges. They challenged my friend and me to a sponge battle where we sailed at each other's boat and when we about amidships, we fired our cache of sponges at our "enemies." I was at the tiller and my friend threw a bullseye, hit one of their crew smack in the face right at the time they tacked and he got a nice wakeup call from the swinging boom. Fortunately they weren't jibing! Back then in the 60s Biscayne Bay was unspoiled. You could see clear to the bottom, which was a mix of sand and sea grass. Today, I understand it is fighting heavy pollution. The Sunfish was agile and required a sensitive hand on the tiller and it kept you in the closest contact with the elements. Wonderful boat!

just a note in case no one has happened to mention it, but there are a lot of small 12 volt transfer pumps on the market that would make this task a lot quicker and easier. One hose in, one hose out, connect the leads and off you go. Most can draw fluid vertical, a rather impressive distance.

Yeah, I was a bit too penny wise… I found one for about $30 and I’ll be using it soon! Thanks

DEALS??? What "deals?" Unless you contacted the owners to give us the selling prices vs the cost to make the boat seaworthy, this video was meaningless. What's the advice? Buy a money pit like a #$%#$^% idiot?
