Hard rubbish is technically for council to pick up and dispose. Each council will do it differently. Ours has set times of year they do it and a limit to how many days before you can start placing on the nature strip. In most places it is illegal to take from the piles though both the rule for how far in advance and taking from piles are often ignored.

I wish I would had found this kind on content on You-Tube 17-18 years ago. I moved to Australia in 2005 and for the first 6 months, I wouldn't say I like it. The only reason I didn't go back to Venezuela was that I didn't have money to pay for the ticket ( I came with a one-way ticket ). Now, having my family here, I consider myself lucky. Australia is not perfect, but at least you still get opportunities in this country.

Sydney weather is much milder. It doesn't get as cold as Melbourne which is closer to Antarctica. It doesn't get as wet as Queensland where they get monsoonal wet season (and further north, cyclones). I like catching the ferry from Sydney to Parramatta or Manly (and being public transport is cheap)

I agree, Australia is VERY multicultural. The ethnic backgrounds here are very many & diverse! And we all basically appreciate it & get along very well. I think Sydney people are easier to make friends with in comparison to Melbourne people. I know this as a fact. I have relatives in Melbourne & they admit that they've noticed that too. Sydney is more bicycle friendly from Melbourne. Lots of bicycle lanes here. Ofcourse, nowhere near as bike friendly as Denmark... but we're getting there. Oh, I agree with the dental costs. It's phenomenal.

What is footy in Victoria is different from footy in NSW or Qld. Vic likes AFL. NSW likes Rugby. But there's also soccer (aka football) or footy. House-warming parties are not as common as they used to be. I live in Sydney & I've probably only been to 1 in my whole life. There are a few variations between cities or states in Australia.

Australia is extremely expensive. Cost of foods especially fruit is very high. Moreover, the quality of fruit and vegetables is really poor. It is like people work seven days a week to pay the bills and in reality, they do not get any special services. High salaries in Australia mean heavy taxes and nothing on the table to eat and enjoy. Medicare system is broken, and you have to pay your doctor for a simple short visit at least $80. This is for a 10-15-minute visit. If your visit is 20 minutes, then pay double. Most houses and buildings have poor living conditions and there is not even a simple radiator for cold winters.

You are out of date now. Many public transport is free or 50 cents for any ride. There are signs to tell you to keep your feet off the seat. Basic manners anyways

Gladstone Rockhampton and Bundaberg , Wide range of major stores and services usually only a short drive away when you live in the city and suburbs . Hospitals , Airports , Schools , Railway Stations and Government Services . Excellent climate in winter , can be a little hot in summer but air conditioners do the job . Coastal and ocean areas not far away . Reasonable home prices and home rentals .

You applied far too much vegemite. Make the toast. Then add the butter to hot toast. Then VERY SPARINGLY apply a light spread of vegemite. That is the way it is lovely. Children are introduced to vegemite as babies. YES vegemite is an essential item !!

Who has Vegemite that thick? Separate Alcohol selling is an age mitigation. It has nothing to do with limiting Alcohol consumption. Alcohol is not allowed to be sold to under 18's. So premises that sell alcohol (shops, pubs, restaurants) must have a license and in the case of a shop it must be sold separately with someone monitoring the non-sale to minors. Most Supermarkets will have a bottle shop immediately next door, or as a separate part of the shop itself, but physically separated with a separate till. We also have independant "Bottle Shops" (similar to British "Off-License" shops) and the unique to Australia "Drive Through Bottle Shop"!
