How are you doing burnouts. I tried over the weekend at the track and all it did was bog out and not make power, and I didnt want to stab the gas and waste my launch control. I tried with brake fully on and I tried a slight roll into ebraking

@@KameronIronstand-ol3lf so what I do is turn traction and stability off, then pull the e brake and let the boost build up then I floor the gas as I release the e brake, don’t do a burnout for too long or it’ll deactivate launch control

@@JamalSmiith I think it’s a great option but I would suggest the Elantra N if you’re looking for a bigger back seat compared to the Kona N. Stock for stock the stinger is definitely faster but not by much. But overall I’ve had a lot more fun in my Kona N than I’ve had in my stinger

@@relaxedsloth9227 I have not had this issue surprisingly but from what I’ve heard, it is really common for the Elantra and Kona N. I’d suggest taking it to the dealer, they usually get it fixed pretty quickly

Turn off traction and stability, Hold the E brake and let the boost build then release the e brake, before you race make sure to turn your traction back on haha

@@KonaNthusiastI found that keeping the traction control completely off was way easier on the car, no wheel hop, minimal spin, smooth into 2nd, went from a 13.7-13.9 to a 13.5 just by turning it off. I hadn’t realized it was still on in N mode and I had done quite a few passes, always just mad hop off the line and into 2nd, didn’t like how hard it was jamming

Thanks man! The JB4 has been amazing, I did have to do some upgrades with it such as hpfp and plugs but other than that it’s great. Map 2 is definitely a good map to daily drive, conservative but definitely gives you a consistent 20+ psi. The only downside to JB4 for me is the stupid octane learning an ECU tune gets rid of that.

Hah man tell me about it, hard to octane learn out here with bumper to bumper traffic. Are you hitting 20+ PSI without the octane learning?

@@CaliforniaKonaN yeah Idk too much about the AFE scorcher but I can definitely vouch for JB4, the data logging is definitely a big plus for me. But yeah the octane learning is difficult, with map 2 I believe you can still reach 21 psi without octane learning. I know map 3 hits 23-24 psi consistently

Just a little correction on oil weights. The 5w40 your using breaks down like this: -5w is the oil weight at start up👈 -40w is the oil weight once it warms up This applies to ALL multi-viscocity oil. Up here in Chicagoland I run 0w30/0w40 Mobil 1.

My Veloster N 6 MT gets between 26 and 28 mpg on country back roads commuting to work. I don't drive it like a little old lady either. For the fun factor and the capability when I need it I think I get pretty good mileage. The few times I have been on the turnpike for awhile I hit 30+ mpg easily. That is on regular 87 octane gas so I know my timing is pulled a bit.

@KonaNthusiast I ran 87 on my Gen Coupe. I traded it at over 134k miles and she still ran like a top. If you are not banging the engine off the rev limiter it is not noticeable. On back roads when I pass illegally I am shifting by 5k or less. I am probably a bit easier on my engine than many others. Tires...not so much.
