Am I the only one that thinks 1100 with 16 inch wheels and good fork springs was nimble in twisties for such a big machine.

who says no to a little more power ;) hard to find good tires for them now with those sizes

@tommyj7887 I never thought of that. I was only like 75 kilos and I could throw it with force left right on the consecutive tight sses to keep up with a 500 2 strokes rz and and a gsxr 400.

My midnight blue 89 3cv was my main bike for years, did 80,000 miles on it. I put an FZR 1000 exup rear wheel on it (17") and some progressive fork springs to change the handling into a bike that loves corners like the ones in this vid. I fitted Dyna ignition coils and iridium spark plugs, always made me smile when starting it as the starter motor would make a quick 'hic' noise and the bike would instantly fire up. Anyway great bikes and with some modifications can surprise sports bikes through the twisties. 👍❤️🇬🇧

Ive got a FJ1200 3cv that's got over 130,000 miles on it and still going strong, engines are indistructable , just greace suspension linkage bearings as these are prone to corrosion

if anyone is into oval track racing, there is a class of cars that uses these fj1200 engines. i used to race them for like a decade, so i have a soft spot for these. they take a beating in those little cars and are very durable

Great ride, great music - however I had preferred to hear the engine sound. I have the same bike with some updates (hyperpro fork springs, 6-piston brake calipers (from YZF), Barracuda 4-1 exhaust system, DynoJet Stage1carburretor, K&N airfilter, Wlbers 601suspension strut, conversion to 17/5,5" rear wheel rim (using an 180 tyre). It is really a great bike but as depending on age my physical strength deceases (I feel it when handling the standing bike) I consider to change to a lighter bike like Yamaha F1, R1 Suzuki GSX-F or -R (all in the 1000ccm class). To all readers: have fun with biking, use your brain and may you always have some some square centimeters road under both tyres!

I agree, I bought my FJ in 1985. I tried the BMW k100, a fantastic motorcycle the year before, but it was not finished. I also looked at the Moto Guzzi Le mans 850, but was there an air filter? Sure, 265kg, 4 cylinders instead of 3 and chain to lubricate. I am Swedish and drove down to southern Europe a few times. In 1992 I was driven to Seville (world expo) a total of 9700Km tour. Nice and no problem, now it is waiting for renovation. Now I have a Yamaha TDM 850 that might be better for a 66 year old. Maybe a TDM 900 or renovation of the FJ 1100 in the future?

The peak of this type was the 3cv (88 - 90) unless ABS is a must for you. The 3YA (as of -90) was already a little bit produced under control of the red cost pencil)

I know the feeling man! I got mine back in 2014, brand new. Guess what I had in my garage before the bike? My Brock’s full exhaust waiting for the bike. Lol I only have like 1200 miles on it. Been trucking OTR not enough time for my baby but this summer I am hiring someone to drive the truck and keep my rout while I ride the month of July and August!

Yes the ZX14r is a great great motorcycle. I have had 3 of them. If you take off the exhaust it really improves the handling. The most comfortable bikes I've owned. This is more comfortable then my Goldwing. I have had 25 motorcycles at this point. What state are you riding in?

These are the types of roads we have all over much of Arkansas. My ZX14R is more than capable in the curves. It's a wonderful all around motorcycle. The H2/R are getting the Glory now...but I wish Kawasaki would keep a large NA motorcycle in their lineup.
