Great video. I can't get the replacement CF filter to lock in. Also the old CF filter will not go in? What could be the problem? Thanks
@TheH2OBro21 күн бұрын
I would make sure feed water to the RO is off and make sure the you are inserting the filters the correct way and twisting clockwise to lock them. Sometimes it just takes some force + wiggle to get them to seat properly. Good luck!

Would it be ok to use channel locks?
@A18121812181221 күн бұрын
@@TheH2OBro I was able to solve the problem of the new filter refusing to rotate into the installed locked position. On the inside of the receptacle for the CF filter, there is a small circular device (approx. 3/4") at the furtherest rear end of the Culligan. I reached my hand inside the opening and with just one finger rotated it clockwise until it stopped turning and then I was able to easily install the new CF filter in place and rotate it to the locked position. I hope it helps anyone else with this problem.

I did exactly as you said and it didn’t clean the dirty water the next day or drain the water. What’s the next step?
@TheH2OBroАй бұрын
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you have a bad seal pack that’s constantly draining water in to the brine tank. If you replace that along with the eductor that you stated you replaced already then you should be all good after that
@samirawahid4523Ай бұрын
@@TheH2OBro thank you for your reply. So the seal pack was replaced last year by a Culligan tech so I don’t think that’s bad. It’s been about a week since we changed the eductor kit. I went into the basement to see if there were any changes and noticed the water was clear now (before it was dirty) and the water had gone down 50% of what it was. So about a quarter of the tank is full of clear water. My question is, does it take time for all the water to go down? If so, how long? Also, there’s no salt in there right now. Should I add salt? Or does the seal pack absolutely need to be changed? Thank you for your help!
@TheH2OBroАй бұрын
@@samirawahid4523 sounds like your water softener is working properly now! There should always be about 1/4 tank of water in the brine tank, that is normal! So no, you do not need to change the seal pack. What happened was you replaced the eductor but had to wait for it to regenerate to draw the water out. All you need to do now is add salt 👍

@@TheH2OBro I’m really sorry but I have another question. I went and got 6 bags of salt. When I added them to the tank, the water just kept rising. I had to take a bucket and scoop water out. I’ve never had that much water in my tank or ever had to add that much salt and still have water showing. Is that normal or something still wrong?

When do you replace the RO membrane (the biggest filter)? And does it flush thru the line or faucet? Thanks so much.
@TheH2OBro2 ай бұрын
Typically it’s 3-5 years depending on the output TDS reading. When it gets too high the red light on your faucet will light up and start beeping. Then it’s time. It flushes via the faucet and takes 30 minutes
@kennethkenneth2 ай бұрын
I accidentally changed the RO membrane before I saw your comment. Its only been 1.5 years. I feel bad for not utilizing it to its potential of 3-5 years. Can i take out the new RO membrane and save it? Or once its wet it has to be used. Thanks for your insights.

Once it’s wet and then dries while in storage it’s prone to bacteria

Thank you for the video. Do you know how I can do a factory reset on the system? I have the Aquasential Select Plus Series Softener and after a power outage it has stopped showing me the CAPG, FLo and GALr options. I'm hoping a full reset of the system will bring the options back.
@TheH2OBro3 ай бұрын
Yes, on the back of the circuit board there will be 10 dip switches. Simply slide them all to the OFF position then back to the ON position and that will do a factory reset. One thing to note is that typically a power outage will only reset the time of the day and not the settings. How this helps and thank you for watching!

@@TheH2OBro Thank you! I was able to do the steps but am still not seeing the CAPG, FLo and GALr options. Do you happen to know of any other way to get to these functions apart from what you show in your video? Also, I’m looking for an O-Ring replacement for a Seal Pack and Brine Piston and Sleeve Kit. if it is not too much trouble, since your system seems similar to mine, would you happen to have a part number for that or know where I can look to get the O-Rings? Thank you so much for your help!
@TheH2OBro3 ай бұрын
Honestly I am not sure why you can’t see those options. Only thing I can think of is you have an older water softener and it’s set to regenerate by day intervals (tcb) and not by gallons used. As far as the seal pack, I don’t believe there is replacement o rings available only. You have to replace the whole seal pack and brine piston assembly as a kit. You might be ok with just servicing the seal pack. Here is a link to one of my videos on how to service it. Hope this helps! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y7GKlN1lns_Mfac.htmlsi=dLZXBS2F-zivNabd

Thanks for the video. I’m wondering about pre-flushing the membrane for 24 hours that the manual calls for 😮 can I just remove the capillary tube and run the water through it with the other new filters removed to perform the flushing and removal of the preservative?

I think you would have to plug the tank inlet on the manifold if you want to do it that way. But honestly if you drain your tank twice you’ll be good 👍

I have the same unit and it says 14 days with 1 regen. How do you increase the regen times? Thanks 😊
@TheH2OBro4 ай бұрын
You need to lower the capacity of the tank. Yours is probably at 800 gallons meaning it will regenerate when you hit that mark. If you lower it to say 600 gallons then it will regenerate sooner. Hope that helps

Very detailed! Thank you. I unfortunately have an E4 code which i suspect happened after a power outage. Is the fix for E4 code similar?
@TheH2OBro5 ай бұрын
Yes E1 E2 E3 and E4 are all codes indicating that the water softener is stuck in a cycle and is not advancing to the next cycle for various reasons. One of which may happen if the power goes out while the water softener is in the regeneration process. If you follow these steps in the video you should get it back and running. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching
