All the swiss-made watches are definitely a bubble in price.

Yet another great video review, I like the marble dial SM. It’s now added to my wish list. Next watch on my list is an affordable meteorite dial.

Thank you for the review. I have the same watch with the Aventurine dial. It's really beautiful especially in the sun. A tad heavy as you mentioned and the clasp is big and heavy too. I am considering changing the bracelet and, horror of horros, I quite like hollow/rolled links as they make watches feel lighter. Don't mind the rattling. Perhaps it's just me? SM make really great quality watches, without a doubt. The marble version is very subtle and elegant indeed.

I am a big fan of Hirsch. They produce just about any type of strap imaginable. They can be pricey yet they are worth every cent. I also like Squale's vulcanized rubber straps. Again, they can be pricey. However, you will be pleasantly surprised as to their quality.

Good deal for sure, and thoughtful review! I sold my SM GMT and got half of what it cost on sale, so that’s another reason to try to keep it. I’m always a little tempted, but I think I will resist getting another, as I just wear other watches instead.

Good video and fair review 👍🏻 I own this model. I tried to like the bracelet. It did not work out. I found a really nice aftermarket one that I enjoy. The bezel action on my model has plenty of friction and I do not have any issues with unwanted movement of the bezel.

I recently purchased a couple of straps from Tuns to sample. Incredible price to performance ratio, and they have all sizes and lengths, which can also be customized.

Thank you for this. I had completely written off the Reduced because of my misguided impression that I should only be considering wider watches of at least 40mm. But your review is awesome and very compelling. I shouldn't be restricting myself simply because of a couple of millimeters. I don't think I should be spending $2000-$4000 more just to get a slightly wider watch.

Thanks for the review 👍 I have the purple one with the jubilee bracelet too. For the price, I think it's fine. My two main issues is the endlinks and the clasp. The clasp has sharp corners and it's really hard to open without breaking af fingernail. I replaced it with a San Martin clasp. The male endlinks on a jubilee looks weird and clumsy. I've recently replaced the bracelet with a white FKM rubber strap and I think it looks better now. But I would definitely have preferred the purple model on a jubilee with female endlinks.

In terms of additional costs, you need to factor in tax and import duties if you're importing from abroad e g. Holbens is an American site.

In terms of rubber straps, the Delugs CTS is amazing in my experience. For third party bracelets, Forstner is my go to. For leather, which isn't exactly my usual preference, Bulang and sons and Veblenist are very nice in the 100-200 range. In the budget range, Vario make great leather straps.

Common issue I have with is the strap length. Most straps are around 6 - 8 inches in diameter. While my wrist is 8.5 inches or 216mm in diameter.
@ImpulsiveWatches5 күн бұрын
Great point, it's particularly an issue with JDM models as the average wrist size is smaller and they cater to that.

In person, the Pagani dial doesn't look textured so much as it looks like it has sparkles. The textured dial is actually the weakest part IMHO. It otherwise punches above it's weight.

Public Announcement: Sell the reduced only to buy a pro, the pro is not that big, it wears small. You need to look at watches on the wrist in the mirror from 2 meters away to get a true size on the wrist, lens blow scale out of the water.

Funny how the 1968 Alaska Project was used for the Mars MoonSwatch as in 2008 or even 2017 Omega didn't have any idea how the Gemini astronauts provided feedback nor how the Alaska Project was exactly used in spaceflight history! #MoonwatchUniverse

If you think the subdials are misplaced, take a look at the Daytona Paul Newman or many classic chronographs from the past. It’s a very common design, if anything I think the Professional’s ones are much too centered, it makes me think of a small movement in a big case.
@SchafeyWafey10 күн бұрын
The lug to lug on that Hamilton is insane - looks as though it wears like a 40mm! Also, dial size is relative to bezels/case widths, as well as being affected by the size of text, hour markers and subdial

I’ve owned this GPQ for 3 months now. Mine is superbly accurate, like a one sec/month. Great lume. And looks great on my medium 7.5 wrist but disappointed by the short strap. It fits just barely in the last strap hole, but why ? I will need to shop for an after market band. Come on Marathon.

The label of American Made is almost impossible to achieve. Even RGM with its in-house 801 movement can't meet such a strict requirement. That's why most American brands are tagged with the city or state of origin.
@ImpulsiveWatches10 күн бұрын
I wasn't aware of that, just read up on it. Has to be almost entirely American made and feature no or negligible foreign content, blimey.
