Great stuff, brotha! The grind is half the fun. Here in central AZ I've stumbled across some good bear spots while deer hunting. Spotted 8 different bears on the same day last year. I'm not much of a bear hunter but I love watching them do their thing. I'd be be more than happy to share the info. Maybe you can find a booner in there. Oaks and acorns EVERYWHERE! Hey Josh, did I hear you right that you shoot 175 grain tip? I’m assuming you hunt with a 175 grain tip as well. I shoot 100 grain tips both for practice and hunting and my bow can’t tell the difference. My groups are very tight with both! I shoot a 07 Mathews Drenlin that is not high speed compared to today’s bows but it still shoots great! I am looking 👀 at 125 grain tips for elk but never seen a 175 grain tip before. I am stoked for fall black bear and hope to hunt archery and both rifle seasons. Bear, Big Horn, and Buffalo are all that is left for me complete the AZ Big 10! What tip weight do you recommend for bear? Nice range, what is the diameter of the white target bulleyes? I generally use a 9” plate to emphasize the vitals on big game.

Those are the most consistent flying arrows I’ve ever seen! Late august archery deer is what I’m stoked for, it’ll be my first multi day solo hunt!

Definitely a great process and one that one shoot employ, whether with a bow or rifle or muzzleloader. Speaking of muzzleloader I should be going on my first western big game hunt this year in Utah chasing mule deer 😅with an open sight muzzleloader. That’s a challenge in of itself. Kind of an inbetween archery 🏹 and rifle challenge, because of the limited range but also slow reload speed. I am treating it almost like an extended range archery 🏹 hunt where I only have one arrow. I really want to go on a bear 🐻 hunt soon, too.

I've always shot the trufire hard-core that has the barrel style adjustment with the fold back buckle. I noticed a few years ago that I couldn't shoot it like how you are showing here. On the shortest adjustment I can only reach my first knuckle(closest to the nail). I need to try some different releases. But you know how it goes. Get so used to something don't want to change if not having failures.

How does it perform in fog or a heavy mist. My old Nikon would not range at all in the slightest fog or mist

How do you feel about the 4 or 5 vanes? He discussed helical a bit but I didn’t see much if any in the video. Also would you use 3 or 4” vanes as apprised to the small ones? Your preference and why?

There is a lot of great hunting films out there. But you sir produce the best films. Amazing story telling and you capture these coues hunts perfectly.

So with the glued in tip system are those arrows only for practice? How do you convert them to a hunting tip?

If any of you are on the fence about buying the Ibex release like I was…do it. I’m a new bow hunter from Louisiana that has had multiple shoulder surgeries causing me to be really late to the game. At the end of last season I got a bow and have been so determined to get confident enough to make ethical shots next season. It’s been a grind, let me tell you. I THOUGHT I was getting surprised shots with my thumb button…but when I got the Ibex my groups almost instantly shrunk. After shooting it for about a week straight, I switched over to my Carter Too Simple for one group and I was touching arrows. It has been that way time after time. I’ve never been this consistent with any release but now I’m consistent with two! I’m still not sure if I’ll hunt with the Ibex yet, but even if I don’t, it’s what will be in my hand in the offseason year after year. It’s pricey, but man…it’s been worth every penny for me.

I’d love to see him make some waves and compare the .003’s and see if there’s much of a difference between the V1’s of Victory’s and Easton match grades 😬 Also, this may not have been filmed, but does he spin test each glue in to test for any possible wobble before gluing everything up?
