Thirty years ago I did this with no instructions in about 3 hours and I think I did it all from top-side. Now I need to replace it again and wonder how I did it so easily the first time.

Great video. I'm a 77 Vette owner looking to replace my old stock mufflers. What were your replacement mufflers and where did you find them? Also, cant find "Part 2". Is there a part 2 video? Cheers!

Why bother at all with this old shit... Simply purchase and install a modern suspension retrofit and enjoy your C3 for once.

Thanks for the video. Did the horn ever go off on you again while doing sharp turns, I know at the end it didn’t but just curious if that resolved the issue.
@Motorcycology6 күн бұрын
That fixed the issue and all works as it should. I'll be doing another horn video on another C3 that is having horn issues. So I'll record the troubleshooting and repair...coming soon. Thanks for the comment. J

Do most horns that stop working is the steering wheel spring etc? Or the relay? What Iam trying to say is should I check relay first before taking on the wheel gromets and spring?
@Motorcycology9 күн бұрын
In my case I had to put in a new relay first , then I needed to change the horn components because for some reason most times when I made a sharp left at slow speed my horn would go off...so I changed the mechanism in the steering column and that fixed my horn. So I'm my case I need to do both. In you4 case I would do the relay first and see if that works for you. Good luck!!
@edwardtasi29059 күн бұрын
@Motorcycology I noticed that the relay is clicking when horn is pushed.Is relay bad?

why didn't you install the radiator to support side and top foam/ seals?
@Motorcycology12 күн бұрын
That's the next part of this job. I needed to install new brake lines across the front cross member before installing the radiator , foam , and all the other pulleys and belts. Thanks for your comment.

So interesting that the Canadian cars got manual chokes, while here in the US we got electric.

Great job, super crisp video. It gives me hope for the uncoming job on my C3. Do you also have a video about "fine tunig" the handbrake, because I still can lift the handle up pretty far, with just to little breaking effect. Nevertheless: thanks a lot! Greets from Germany, Niels

Just ordered the same one. Couldn’t pass it up for the price. My husky needs crank seals I’m thinking so would probably cost the same as this to get it fixed. Tks for sharing.

I just recharched our 2010 Ford Ranger, much to my husband's dismay. It worked like a charm (at least for now), so thank you for this wonderful and easy to follow video. I did notice, however, that the a/c compressor clutch still stopped and started, even after recharging. Should I worry? The air is blowing cold, btw.

Where did you purchase your core support? I purchased one from a well known supplier and I had to do some serious metal grinding to get mine to fit.......even then the 2 lower side bolts don't line up.
@Motorcycology11 күн бұрын
I got my corsuport from Ecklers. Based on what you said, I was fortunate that mine fit. Let's see how it goes with the radiator . I've got an original , but it's old and looking at putting in an aluminum rad and I am anticipating a few potential fitment issue even though the rad is supposed to fit. We will see. 😂

@@Motorcycology Thanks Jonathan, your videos are super helpful. I'm also in the middle of restoring '76 that was sitting in dry barn since 1998. Basically the stuff you did on videos as well - all the seals, timing gear, front arms, all bushings, POR15 ing the frame, fuel pump lines, vapor canister, new brake lines and blocks, master cylinder and power brake cylinder, spark plugs and wires, new distributor, solid motor mounts, trans filter, balancer... Also have new rad support and AL rad ready to be put in car, still need to mount new starter&fuel tank sender unit + new rear fuel hoses and reseal the brake calipers + new e-brake gear. Then hopefully prime it with oil and first start after all those years :)

I'm trying to find the correct switches for my 77. The first pair I picked up were too short for the passenger side, the door wouldn't push the button when it was closed. The old switches that I pulled out, the passenger is about 1/2 inch longer from the nut to the tip of the button. Did you notice the size difference on yours?
