I may have lost a very slight amount of bottom end but it was worth it for the power delivery! If you have ported heads and some nice pistons it will be a handful of fun!

@@dreamitautomotive1218 sorry for not getting back to you sooner! The plan is to go with the Zack Nation Racing 49mm 2 inch drop trees in black anodized with a red GPR stabilizer (they are built into the triple tree). I didn't have to swap any of my cables for the bars I have. I did swap them for upgraded cables and lines, but it wasn't necessary. In this video it still has the stock throttle cables, I only changed my brake line because the XR1200 master cylinder has a 12mm banjo instead of s 10mm. The clutch cable is a few inches longer than stock, but the stock clutch cable worked fine. I also internally wired the bars and still had plenty left! See, I don't get that at all! The bandit is a fucking sweet bike, and I have sport bikes, cruisers, adventure, dual sports, a dirt bike and a naked bike so I'm down with whatever when it comes to bikes. 100hp doesn't sound like much (it's probably more like 110) but when the 1200cc air cooled motors make 67hp, a 33% jump in power for basic bolt on is great. The good thing about these bikes is a monkey could build one, they are incredibly easy to work on and a motor swap or build can be done in an afternoon in the garage. I've actually done a bunch of work to the bike since I posted this video lol I'll add another video or two after work today! The 1275 kit with some good cams and headwork will absolutely wake that bike up, I have the s&s 1250 with forged 10.5:1 flat top pistons but I'm going to be doing some major motor work after this summer (crank welded, trued, balanced with CP Carillo rods and pistons, a new throttle body, injectors, head work and more). I ordered ODI+hartluck graphite grips, Rebuffini red/black wheelie pegs, Hammerhead Designs foot brake and shifter, and over 60 ARP 12 point bolts (full motor mount kit, caliper to bracket and bracket to fork leg bolts, trackerdie sprocket cover bolts, rear fender bolts, rear shock bolts, exhaust studs and nuts, seat bolt and washer, axle nuts, triple tree bolts, tank bolts, oil tank bolts, headlight mounting bolt, rear master cylinder bolts, and 2 banjo bolts, all are 12 point ARP hardware. It pains me to say this but I spent over $500USD on bolts alone this week 😆 🤣. I hear you on the short riding season, I am on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. I live 100 feet from the ocean so the weather sucks after September until June and every bolt on my 2018 Sportster has started to rust even tho it's never been left outside and always stored in a garage. The plan is to replace every bolt with ARP 12 point nuts and bolts, but I'm not leaving them stainless steel, I am having them DLC coated (black chrome) which will be a really nice fine detail that 99.9% of people won't ever notice, but they will notice the rusty bolts if I leave them.

I didn't get a chance to dyno it at that point, but when it was just the s&s teardrop air cleaner, Vance and Hines stainless 2-1 upsweep, Vance and Hines FP3 tuner, Feuling .505/.515 cams the bike ran incredible. When I would race my buddies, one on a 2013 softail slim 103 with power commander tuner, thunderheader exhaust, and screamin eagle 90 degree air cleaner, and a 2018 Softail Street Bob 107 with a Screamin Eagle tuner, Two Brothers Comp S, and Two Brothers 90 degree air cleaner, I would be side by side both bikes until the top of 3rd gear and once the bike would reach about 140km/h the Sportster would start pulling away from them. The .505/.515 are a good cam for stock heads with no headwork because the stock heads can only flow roughly .500 of lift, so big cams with no headwork is useless. I plan on doing some serious headwork to the bike, this season will be mild headwork compared to what I am doing next off season. I want to get dyno numbers for the 1250 with the headwork and crank built to see what kind of power it makes, then I'm tearing it apart again as I've decided to go a completely different route with the motor now. The next version of this motor definitely won't be a "mild" 1250 build lol

Unfortunately I haven't yet had it on a dyno but that is in the plans. It is currently Winter here so the bike is about to be in pieces again for more upgrades. To be 100% honest I can't say for sure how much of a difference it made because I also upgraded a bunch of other stuff inside the motor. I'm running Feuling 505/515 cams, Feuling HP+ lifters, Feuling Endurance valve springs, Hammer Performance solid pushrods, Buell bronze oil pump gear, S&S lifter cuffs, Two Brothers Gen 2 two to one, S&S teardrop air cleaner (it now has an even wider high flow filter which flows 40% more than the high flow filter that the air cleaner came with, the new filter comes with adaptors to fit the larger filter), v&h FP3 tuner. I have Screamin Eagle high compression spark plugs and Screamin Eagle 10mm spark plugs. The bike had a v&h stainless 2-1 upsweep exhaust , v&h fp3, s&s air cleaner and the Feuling cams with the 1200cc, but I can tell you without a doubt in my mind that the bike makes a LOT more power than it did as a 1200. I just recently added a FAST Performance EFI ignition coil(Fuel Air Spark Technology) which is again without a doubt something I didn't realize I needed until I added it, the throttle response and the way the bike runs now is incredible! I built the suspension and brakes, swapped all the gauges and added a few gauges. I'm having the heads ported and polished, and either an XR1200 crank balanced, trued and welded or my OEM crank balanced, trued and welded with some CP Carillo rods and pistons. If I was to guess, I would say the bike makes about 100hp to the rear wheel, and if I don't hit 100+hp to the rear wheel I will add some larger Feuling 580 cams and some s&s roller rockers. I went with a very streetable build, the cams are aggressive enough to make good power with out taking away any of the low end grunt. I added a TMF chain conversion too and slightly changed the gearing for a little more bottom end pull. There are an endless amount of things I could tell you about what I have done to the bike lol

I absolutely love them! I am 5'10 and they are incredibly comfortable with the saddlemen. I went with the 10 inch mx bars from Westcoast Tbars, but I am about 99% sure they are almost the exact same as the lucky Dave's bars which would give you a fair comparison. I may get a slightly smaller set for track days in the future (6-8 inch) but for cruising and riding the roads the 10 inch bars are the way to go (for me anyways!) I don't think you will be disappointed

That’s a mean setup. How tall are them risers and did you need to buy additional wiring kit or extend to reach the speedo mount? I bought the bung king 8” risers with 2” pull back and will mount the gauge using oem clamp. The dealership is going to install them and order what I need.

The bars/risers are a 1 piece setup and are 10 inches tall (8 inch riser and 2 inches on the bars I believe) and the stock wiring was plenty long, the only thing I had to replace was the brake line but if you are running the stock caliper the stock brake line should be long enough. I added the radial caliper/bracket which sets the radial caliper down 3-4 inches on on rotor which caused me to need a new brake line. The setup you went with should look and work awesome!

@@parker2k846 You have a TBR gen two 2-1? I have the baffles in mine, at idle it sounds good and isn't too loud but once the bike gets above 2500 RPM it gets really loud. Oddly enough, where I am located in Canada, there are no club style, or performance orientated Sportster builds here. Most guys have stock 883 or 1200 motors. There is a handful, and I mean no more than 5 dyna builds within 300 miles and that is about it, so the bike gets lots of looks because these types of builds aren't done often on the East Coast of Canada! @jonnymac8925 3 жыл бұрын
I was getting about the same mileage out of my bike after the cams. The small tank and the stupid tank lift I had on it didn't let me use all my fuel in the tank. When I would be "empty" there would still be 1 liter or so in there still. I took the tank lift out so when I get it back I'll have a better idea although the first couple thousand KM will be me breaking the motor in so I am not sure how much of a difference that will make. With the cams I would get 140ish KM out of a tank which seemed decent for such a small tank and my riding style!

Stage 2 at the time of this video. It had a Vance and Hines FP3 tuner, Vance and Hines Stainless 2 into 1 upsweep exhaust, S&S teardrop intake to complete the stage 1 upgrade and Feuling 505/515 camshafts for the stage 2. I guess it could technically be considered a stage 4 now, although I didn't use a Harley big bore kit because they don't make one for the 1200cc Sportsters so I went with a S&S 1250cc with S&S forged flat top pistons, added Feuling hp+ lifters, Feuling Endurance series valve springs, Hammer Performance solid pushrods, Buell bronze oil pump gear, two brothers racing comp s gen 2 exhaust to replace my v&h pipe (got destroyed during an accident in November where an old lady ran me over) and much more. I built the suspension and brakes, added some carbon fiber side panels and front fender, new gauges, chain conversion, 10 inch mx tbars, saddlemen stepup seat, so on and so forth haha the bike will be back in my possession next week so I will finally be able to upload some new videos of the build!

As for the cams, I kept the 505/515s in there. The Reaper 505/515 are a fairly mild cam (big enough to make great power tho!) From a launch to 2500ish RPM is very similar to stock, from 2500-3500RPM you feel it start pulling harder than the stock cams, and from 3500-6500RPM (I have my limiter raised) they work amazing and pulls hard to redline.
