what is the timing differences in cruise on both maps ? Almost certainly not knock ... possibly a vibration causing that correction ?

@@racedynamix in the mentioned load range is about 1-2 deg. i checked eveything in the bay and nothing.

The vf400 is a larger turbo so spools up a little later but the top end is so much better... a great turbo IMO

Hi.. Generally the accepted safe limit on the engine is 350 ish bhp. I have mapped them to just under 500 though on the understanding that it wouldn't last. If it were mine, I think the sweet spot is around 350..maybe a little more 😁

Hi.. if the ecu is taking fuel out then you need to remove fuel.. by lowering the maf curve values at the points at which it is doing it..

It is possible to do that but running 100 duty almost always leads to overboost wobbles in boost. Better to set properly and set realistic boost targets so as to not overload the integral side of the boost control strategies.

The advantage in power terms is really to bring ignition timing up and make power that way rather than forcing the turbo out of efficiency. Do you have an aftermarket ecu controlling it ?

@@racedynamix Yeah, Id need it to be reliable like a fuel injector because if i push ignition high/lean AFR, in the event of failure it would break the engine with no doubts Im still researching atm. Got a link G4+

You should be able to bring a signal from the aem kit into the Link and use that to switch fuel / ignition or even boost maps thereby giving you the safety of when it is working, it will add power

on top feed injectors they handle higher ipw better so have seen up to 100 .. sometimes even over 100. They still actually add fuel to 108% because they are essentially static open then..no opening or closing part open points. 14.5 timing is fuel dependant but seems reasonable if good quality fuel for that afr

@@racedynamix I forgot to mention this is on a WRX gc8 440cc injector sidefeeds (W20c EJ207 block, double cross drill crank, thick walls), is say 90% safe for say an overboost condition in the cold in 4th gear or even now and then Usually got the rest of the table on 80% - 85% Ah yes, 98 RON FUEL, tuned with knock ears, I also have a knock link warning light which will flash with knock pretty handy if youre driving and hit knock. ages ago before i learnt cars a tuner i hired put like 20 degrees in, the car would ping its tits off so i lost trust in most tuners, I would have to vet them, now i just tune myself.

It amazes me seeing other tuners doing their work without any det cans or knock devices apart from the ecu. Amazes me in not a good way that is... a bit reckless IMO.
