Honestly I have a feeling Tom Glynn-Carney is going to be the MVP of the season, his performance as Aegon II in the first episode is already top-notch. Everyone thought he was going to be Joffrey 2.0 but he's not, their are layers to his character. I really loved court petitions scene in the throne room you could tell he wants to be liked by the smallfolk but still doesn't know how to be "king" because he was never regarded as the "heir" or trained by Viserys but still he was trying. Every scene with Aegon II in the episode was really interesting. You could tell the showrunners and writers really want to explore this character more and Tom looks like he's having fun playing him. Can't wait to see his breakdown when he finds out Jaehaerys is dead, Bring on episode 2.

It's really hard watching Jace in thus scene. He loved his brother and if you go back to season, you can see little snippets of Jace actually taking care of Luke in the background.

It's a fascinating style of king to see, one that does genuinely care about ruling but also one that has absolutely no idea how to, since until just a few days ago he had no interest in it at all.

If you read the books, Aegon II grows more cunning, brave, and confident. He literally becomes an utter badass. Despite Aegon II's naivety, he is really socially relatable at times as shown in the scene where he talks with his friends in the throne room and actually knows that it is important not to piss off the smallfolk. If you have read further into the books, you will why it is important not to piss off the smallfolk, even a SHEPHERD.

Absolutely the highlight scene of this episode. The actors portrayed grief, composure, sadness and loss masterfully. Felt a gut punch when Jace’s voice cracked..

This makes S8E3 of GoT a lot more annoying to think about... I can't believe they keep on stressing on the threath of the dead when we already know they won't be.

how about another move sequel of "Air" showing the slave labor overseas due to corporate imperialism. The irony a decendant of slaves enriches himself via exploitation of slave labor" kinda puts a tear in my eye, now I gotta find the soundtrack and actors for the movie.......

I forgot that Adidas and Converse are made by magical elves in the cobbler's workshop. I mean, you must be a blast at parties. People must congregate around you to hear the virtue signaler regale them with tales of the evils of capitalism. Oh, and I'm sure you don't own anything that was made overseas, right? Hypocrite.

Otto is so damn controlling Aegon would've been fine doing this alone. Otto's just riling up the civilians. His paranoia is going to come back to bite them. I felt bad for the first guy who just wanted his sheep back that had been stolen. Otto is really the main reason why people are against the Greens he's like Tywin or Stannis always second-guessing everything and making things worse.

I was excited for Cregan Stark, but the accent sounds very fake and forced. Definitely doesn’t match him.

Seeing Aegon check him was so satisfying. The guy schemed and plotted to have another puppet on the throne that would let him run the kingdom but then the new king actually cares about his responsibilities and won't be controled by him.

Otto is so annoying Aegon cannot be his puppet, and soon after the death of his son Aegon will completely changed. Still can’t wait for Otto’s downfall. I always feel sad for these children, green nor black, they are just tools for power hungry adults.

Even Aegon himself admitted in Season One that Rhaenyra should be the heir, not him because he's not ready. Well, he's a young man who wants to have fun and get drunk but his father died suddenly and his mother and grandfather pushed him to the Iron Throne immediately without any preparations. He's not Joffrey 2.0, he's not as sadistic as Joffrey, but the death of his son will make him snap

By far my favorite scene this episode. That raw emotion from the blacks, the beautiful sunset and then Alicent's breathtaking sept scene remembering the dead, showing that she is human, still feels for Rhaenyra and didn't want things to go this far.. This is why I love this show. It's not just about war and power, it's also about the pain and feelings that come with it.

I very much cried at this. It also makes me think of Catelyn and Robb--how she pulls her son down to her shoulder and cradles the back of his head. It's a moment when the sons, now young men, allow themselves to be comforted as boys by their mothers.
