I appreciate the older generations grasp of the English language. Imagine how effectively you can communicate just with the knowledge of the right words, without having to pause and search for them too often. Also, the grace that was allowed for people to speak and not be interrupted so much. These are things I wish we had a little more of today. I don't blame anyone for things being different today, But I can certainly see some room for improvement by referring to some older virtues. The good, healthier ones, that is.

I have so many more rights in my state than in others. I'm grateful for all the freedoms protected here. I doubt I'll ever leave

Guys, these are Confederate traitors. Stop praising them. We can appreciate how amazing it is that we can watch videos from this time, but people are calling them "patriotic" in the comments and it's just dumb as hell lol

It's hard to imagine how tough and hardened the men from that war must have been. They really don't make people like they used to anymore.

500 years from now* Historians consider the loss of seven men unlikely and it was probably much higher. And the destruction of over 250 Dutchmen is probably an exaggeration. *sigh* I’d rather live in 1865 than 2024

My ggg grandfather was a Civil War veteran and was still living at the time this wonderful footage was taken. He was one of the last veterans known to have been living in Indiana when he died. He was an Englishmen who was the only one of his family who came to America. He fought in the Battle of the Wilderness and was taken prisoner. He was consequently one of the last people who personally experienced that horrible camp that died.

I, Jeff Miller, spoke with a man who interviewed with Thomas Edison in 1922 -- of course, this was no Zoom call but an in-person interview. Yardley Chittick had graduated from MIT and passed some IQ-like test prior to speaking with him. I called Chiitick in 2004 or 2005 and he was born in 1900 and lived until almost 108. He turned the Wizard of Menlo Park down and worked for a golf club manufacturer. Humphrey bogart was an older prep-school class mate who apparently bullied Chiitick. Chittick told me to walk for exercise. I had called him after hearing him on NPR.

It seems to me that he saw so much more technological change in his 102 years than has someone who is 102 now. Mid-1800s to mid-1900s was a huge leap.

Babe Ruth being called black or mixed was started by Ty Cobb because Cobb didn't like him and would call him that . Babe was not all or part black. This seems like another attempt by black radical's to claim this to say any great athlete is at least part black which is nonsense.
