one thing i cant seem to find a way to do on the Garmin that is EASY to do on my Lowrance unit is the put data on different parts of the page. I can have a split screen with GPS and the sonar, and on the GPS side put the SOG info on the GPS, then the depth and water temp on the sonar side.... but this doesnt seem possible with Garmin. Seems it must all be in a row and not split apart and put anywhere you like. Please fix this with the next software update.

can you mount this on the dash cam mount. No way I am putting it on the window. Too big and they always fall off. IF you can't put it on the dash and use the dashcam this is a poor design.

I just returned me new Garmin 53 EX and got my money back. There was one insurmountable problem and one apparently minor probe. I bought it to replace my Garmin nuvi 53 which I have had maybe a decade. Only problem with the nuvi 52 was the touch screen was becoming erratic. The box of the 53EX the photo shows a display very similar to the nuvi 52. The 53EX display is the same physical size but the roads and their names are thread thin no matter how much you zoom in. In short it is too difficult to read and a hazard as it requires more effort taking you eyes off the road. The nuvi 52 only required a glance. A problem I noticed while parked in in my truck. The display showed me traveling a bock away at 4 mph. After that the vehicle icon jumped around like teleportation to other locations within a block. When summing traffic information got the message incompatible power cord. I was using the power cord of the nuvi 52 so I swapped to the 53EX cord and got the same message. I am not surprised because I guessed it needed connected to a device that accessed the internet for this. I will look first or another Garmin product to replace my old nuvi 52. Failing that I will find another brand. I cannot recommend the Garmin 53EX and probably the Garmin 53.

Returned the product two times after it bricked twice after setting up the WiFi connection. Will never buy this again.

My Garmin Edge Touring just died two days ago. The ON/OFF button shorted out the unit and killed it when the housing around the button caved in for no apparent reason. Totally pissed. Until that moment it worked just fine. Did I mention that I was pissed.

Plastic bushings went bad pretty quick with little use. I got replacements so let's see how long those last after the warranty

Unfortunately, you changed the position of the mount on the back, so if I wanted to buy the 1050, I would have to change the mounts on my 3 bikes (what I will surely not do)

Transmissive display instead of a transflective display is a HUGE step back for a device that operates in daylight almost exclusively. Direct sunlight will make it harder to see. It has a larger battery than the 1040 (Garmin says the weight penalty comes mostly from the battery), but has way less battery life because of the display choice. Also the change of mount placement makes it not being compatible with most aftermarket aero mounts (that were snug fit) and it is a huge kick in the nether region. All-in-all it's a very disappointing product for that hefty price tag.

I expected a better product video from such a giant company. The vibe is zero after watching this video. Thanks to Desfit and DC rainmaker who kept the flam on.

And still not able to track/register multiple bikes. I don't know anybody that uses the same bike for mountain and road, or gravel, TT. We should be able to assign different bikes per activity profile, maybe based on sensors. The X40 series has an odometer, but it's not accurate when it logs all the miles of different bikes under the same number.

Reading all these reviews that complain about needing to set up a Garmin acct. Why the heck would you buy a Garmin scale without having a Garmin acct?? 😂 The main attraction to this scale is it links to my Garmin account and will update my profile with this information automatically.

Unfortunately I’ve had too many failed Garmin products to further invest in the company from the ears breaking off my edge 1030 to constant crashes of my 830, all problems reported back to Garmin with Zero response suggests the company doesn’t care about customers once they have sold products, plus rubbish metrics, how can I deliver my best performance of the year with a body battery of 30! and training readiness score of 1? as soon as I can get one I am investing in the new Hammerhead Karoo, goodbye Garmin

DON't buy this the Garmin weight scale it SUCKS. Weight measurements are INACCURATE. Two measurements after each other give differences of over 1 kg. So a totally useless piece of equipment. More users have this problem.

I recently got a new garman vivo, the best model. It's sleep tracking is hopeless. You could be lying their awake for 2 hours and it will think you're sleeping. It will think you're asleep before you're actually asleep, and the worst part is you could get up and start your day, and it still thinks you're sleeping. It's very disappointing.
