Hello! It is a well made Rc, however it truly cannot be used in sand or small gravel as the particulates get trapped under the tracks and pull the treads off! It actually says "Do Not Use on Gravel" So... fun but disappointing to me! It is Cool looking once painted! LOL

@@rccmrccrawlermods4517 sounds legit. I don’t have sand or gravel around here so I should be ok I think. However I’m reminded of a paper weight my mom got when she was in college in the 70’s. It proudly cheerfully says “I’m not going to make the same mistakes my parents made. I’m going to make my own!” The mood is all in the font you see. So I’ll find a way to fuck it up just you wait lol

I have a supdex rc American M4A3 Sherman tank and it's fun to play with I run it both out side on the lawn in the mud on the driveway even inside to it's really fun to play with 👍🙂

FMS 1/18 scale is 1 of my favorite RCs. I have to say my no. 1 upgrade is ball bearing in transmission and axles. The car only has 2 ball bearing in it when you buy it, all the rest are steel bushings

I ve read the Kubel had no oil filter (don't know if true ). If so the engine wouldn 't last long in the desert. I guess the germans believed in a short war.

I took out all the extra leaf springs and put in oil shocks just a few months ago in the Willys.. and added ballast in the Kubelwagen.. helped but not as much as I would like!

Avery informative video. How do you figure the spring growth in diameter when choosing which diameter Of the rod?

It is a game of chance indeed! Wire thickness, and a growth rate of about 1/3 determine the springs final diameter. I have many tubes of different diameters and experimentation! Thanks for watching!

I bought these portals on Amazon, however Amazon seems to have discontinued them! I looked at a few metal options which would work. As for the shocks, Amazon also doesn't carry these anymore - but any 65 to 70 mm oil shock available will work! Sorry, seems the world is changing faster than we can keep up these days!

This kit was amazing! Tons of parts, great instruction booklet and very well thought out. This is definitely worth getting. the tires are pretty good too! Oh ya, oil shocks are aftermarket and make a huge difference for performance and realistic tracking.

Oil shocks. They paved the way for smaller RCs to perform like larger ones - Lose the Bounce! It is a great RC!

Hello.. I was able to use the same stock mounting points with these shocks as there is not alot of room to change the position! all I really needed was to use different screws and make spacers so the shocks won't rub. I have played around with different tire combos but the stock tires do work well. I turned up the spring rate on the back shocks to even out the positioning. Have fun!
