My 8 month old Lakeland terrier pulls like mad, she is on a harness at the moment and pulls so much. When we get back from a walk she nearly pass3 out from all the pulling she has done. She has slipped out of many harnesses and collars. What can I do to help stop this?

YES! BE YOUR DOGS BEST ADVOCATE! I say this all the time! They cannt speak english and i my responsibility as their trusted gaurdian to speak for them! (This also means paying attention very frequently to them while im out in public)Its great practice in setting boundaries. I say very jokingly "dont be afraid to train people too!"

Hello, I don't know if you'll see this or not. I have an 8 week old Miniature Schnauzer, I've had her for a week. She wants to bite my hands and arms constantly. I know she's teething because I can feel the teeth coming in. In the past, I have let my other puppies teeth on my arm, to and include my daughters puppy 2 months ago. They all stopped biting around 4 to 5 months old. I wanted to do things differently with this puppy. I have tried redirecting her with toys or chew sticks, nope, I've turned my back on her to ignore her, again nope. I've even threatened to throw her in the trash (just kidding). My question is, will your touching technique work for her being 8 weeks old and teething or do I ride it out until she's a bit older and not teething as bad. I ask because the dogs I see you with are much older and bigger than my puppy who weighs 2.4 pounds. She does wrestle around and such with my daughters 5 month old puppy that's about 6 of her and 22 pounds. She's feisty and can hold her own. Thank You!

I have a pittbul husky mix. What I’ll say is they are very challenging to train, but the best dog you can have once you are able to train them. Incredibly smart and loyal dogs that love affection

Can 200 pounds of dog be soft and gentle. At minimum 120 -260 pounds youd better think twice before adding a dog the size of a human to your household. It's all good including the slobber they produce a veritable faucet of saliva. Their size means a large living space . And transportation.. requires a large vehicle. Securing one to the seat belt resulted in a broken seat belt lock... these videos proposing only the best leaves out the negatives. You diffinitly need professional help training them. Most people can barely control a dog weighing 45 pounds . One mastiff I trained inadvertently broke the leg of the owner, when owner tried to walk him on a leash. They are in my opinion not the Einstein of dog breeds.

Are there dog trainers that don't support the dog breeding exploitation market? I have never heard a dog trainer say "adopt, don't shop" and I think that's pretty sad. You guys should get more informed about the heinous animal abuse around dog breeding.

My parents got a dog they never bothered to train and now he barks at the slightest sound for HOURS. He barks at the most ungodly hours of the night, ALL NIGHT. Just this morning he barked from 4am until 6am, had to be hushed many times until he heard a small sound and is back to losing his mind. I am so exhausted and have tried so many methods to get him to stop to no avail, so here I am to try again LMAO

His description of an Old English Mastiff is spot on. I have owned two and they were the sweetest girls. RIP Maggie May Mastiff and Gracie face. The hardest part of owning them is their very short lifespan. Sigh.

Hi there Mr. Atherton! I have a 2 1/2 year old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepard mix. She is very friendly around my family and is gentle with us. However, whenever we go on walks or the delivery man shows up, she is very aggressive and will bark maniacally and lunge at that person. We really really really don’t want to have to euthanize her and I’m just wondering if you have any ideas on how to help. Thank you!

How solid is your basic obedience training with your dog? Without that foundation, anything and everything else is going to be a struggle.

@@glenj.taylor2938 If I’m being honest, not so great. I’m thinking I’ll start from there and as we do more obedience training it might help with the aggression in the long run.

The pitbulls I have experienced have been lovely dogs. In fairness I haven't met many and the owners have been lovely people too, not the kind of people that would train a dog to be vicious

They are lovely dogs… but very poor breeding which is what made them more likely for aggression concerns. I love my pitty though. She’s one of my favourite dogs that I’ve ever had.

Knowing the breed is so important. I've had an dealt with loads of Germans Shepherds (the best), Border Collies, and Pits and because I know the behaviour and temperament of each breed, you're right, I have adjusted to each dog successfully. However, right now, for the first time, I've rescued a street puppy. I don't know her parents were, she had Labrador features, but her paws are tiny so I think she will be small. In this scenario, where you are not sure about the breed, how wild you set the dog up for success? Trial and error or are there common traits that crossbreeds have??
