Do you find that fishfinder is close enough to see ok mounted on the tackle pod.. I've got a 400 and I'm debating whether to put a fishfinder there or on a scotty type arm a bit closer to me?
@henrycatchesfish2 ай бұрын
Hey mate, yep i find this set up works pretty well! The thing I like is that it’s low down so doesn’t get in the way of my fishing but just have to find what works for you! Can always position it and sit in your kayak on the grass at home or something and see where you feel like it’ll be comfortable for you!

The one thing I would suggest you might like to add would be a stringer, clips into the backer of your insulated bag easy to slide the fish into and handy just to string the fish throw it back into the water while you sort out the gear get a line back in then sort the fish out
@henrycatchesfish3 ай бұрын
Hey mate thanks for the comment, that’s a good idea have thought about that but I religiously bleed my fish and leave them in in the footwell to bleed out so can get another line out while they’re bleeding so haven’t found the need for a stringer yet! But I may consider it in future

awesome video man. i think for reels the baitcasters r the best option: mainly cause of the auto engage, making it very cast to click in gear as soon as the lure hits the bottom, plus with slow jigging low drag is a must so drags on baitcasters aint an issue well at least for me personally. look forward to the day wen i get to try this method in super deep water
@henrycatchesfish4 ай бұрын
Thank you very much mate! Yes I’ve dabbled with baitcasters! Both have their pluses and minuses I’d say you’re right on the auto engage but I do like how this reel had a huge capacity of line and also has some serious grunt for when I swap it over to other rods and use SPJ or other things where I can put a bit more drag on!

Hi Martin, yes a little bit! I used the Viking transducer fitting kit but it is kinda at full stretch on the threaded bolt because it’s outside of the slot!
