If you want the easy game engine that requires no code use coppercube, it's 3d and graphics are similar to PS2 an has a nostalgic early 3d game feel

Well, the reason why things might not work on Mac OS exactly correctly would probably be how the Godot developers prioritize things operating systems are prioritized in this exact order. Linux Windows Mac OS You see as the godot Developers follow strict open-source philosophies, they tend to prioritize open-source OS's over closed-source One. it's not that they won't make it work given time if you use Windows or Mac OS you're treated as a second-class citizen, it is what it is. In the case of exporting to consoles, it's not that they couldn't support them they don't want to because the SDK's are closed source hence following the strict open source philosophies. if you want the game engine that follows the same care and attention to details, but doesn't have a problem allowing things to export to consoles I would suggest Defold it has a bit of a different workflow to it but overall it's the really good engine has the same clean UI that you like it's very stable and for the most part it works on all different kinds of OS's with no real problem. Also, if there is a problem simply DM the development staff and in most cases, the problem will be fixed within 24 to 48 hours the development staff cares about its community. Not that the Godot is a bad game engine. I'm also not saying that the Godot developers don't care. But how they do things is different whether that's a good thing or not it's up to you.

that whole section trying to implement a selection method only to throw it all away is incredibly relatable. It's one of the worst feelings of dread that you're realizing the initial idea is not gonna work in time. Great video!

5:31 - Hey, I recognize those awful discolorations! I tried making a 3D mesh thing recently and got the same results. It's probably not helpful now, but I discovered that the issue was that Godot smooths meshes by default: surface.clear() surface.begin(Mesh.PRIMITIVE_TRIANGLES) surface.set_smooth_group(-1) This causes Godot to calculate normals for each triangle individually. It doesn't fix the lasso shape, but it would at least keep the colors consistent.

How did you do the attack bubble for the attack resource?
@LazyAlarm16 күн бұрын
It’s an export variable that I assign in the inspector. If it’s left unassigned (like it is for the portal) then it never runs the code for attacking. The bubble itself is just an area node with a sphere collider and the collision mask and layers set to align with what it is and what it should be detecting.
