Good question, I've been asking myself this for a long time. The best reggae drummer ever, very humble & low key guy that definately didnt seek the spotlight. Was always smiling when he wasn't behind the drums. Remember reading an interview in the 70's & Bob said carly was his true bredren, never arguing/ seeking more money etc. Just loved playing music like he did. always was the first guy at rehearsals & last to leave. Carly was like the Band leader, started the songs & ended them during all the live shows. Carly simply was the guy that gave Wailers their unique sound.

I have played on the exact same model of Ludwig drums as Carlton, since 1987, never looking for anything else. Has just worked! Carlton has always been a huge inspiration!

aston barret was an asshole he turned on the wailers and the marleys tried to take them to court in 2012 claiming his bass playng and sound engineering was everything with out him they were nothing thats utter bull shit, he would of taken all their money if he had won but he lost , when bob was sick and dieing he wouldnt go see bob with the wailers when he was sent for, ye didnt like bob, and his brother carly the drummer was a good guy they were brothers but they wernt close they didnt get on that well either, bob said i cant beleive this man was our brother i dont know him anymore, money got to his head he is dirt to the marleys and the wailers, he only gets on with junior the lead guitarist, junior was a dick too, soon as bob died he imitated bob and dressed like him and took over as lead singer and killed the wailers because hes shit and mental, dont believe me? look up interview with al anderson, theres four parts he tells the truth hes the other lead guitarist

I met Terry by chance in a pub in Walthamstow years ago. Over the years he always had time to meet up and have a chat and a pint. He was genuinely a lovely man. He never stopped smiling. He had no ego and the funniest sense of humour. Good pool player too. RIP TSP

I just saw The Quiet One which I highly recommend. Bill's interest in archaeology extends to his own past and the history of the Stones. I'm glad to see him having a happy life. My first Stones album 12x5 back when they had three American albums. Been loving them ever since, especially the old stuff when Bill was still in the band. He is really 80? Wow.
