Me sitting over here in an org that knows nothing about project management, slotted into a project manager role running (at this point) 35 projects...... someone help.... 😅😅😅. Its mostly the IT portion of those projects but still.

@@ITProjectManagers I resigned. I felt I got lost in a never ending loop. I was mentally traumatised, was lost the appetite to explore and learn new things. The main problem was my colleagues see this as my disability to manage things. Once the unnecessary blame game started being played I couldn't control anymore. Everything you said in the first half of this video is exactly what I have been through. I couldn't believe when you explained it so well. I wish everyone realises this before it's too late.

I'll try to ask the developer to give me a preliminary estimate which I will cautiously explain to the client mentioning that nothing out of this is final, I guess that should work! Or if not, then I'll watch the rest of the video to find it out.

I don't recommend doing that. You need to control expectations right from the start. Stakeholders will remember the first thing you say. After that, it's hard to change their perception...

@@itsmechicpalak Well, in my world, I would give the requirements to business analyst first or discuss it with the team. This way we can uncover all the requirements. Then, I would assign the estimation to the corresponding team lead.

From the outside, it may seem like that. But you'll only appreciate it when you need to organize the work of people who are not motivated to collaborate. Suddenly, project management is a blessing:)

No, I'm using free version of Jira. I think you are working with a team-managed project. It has less capabilities. Try creating a company managed project. It will have all customizations available.

Could you please do a video explaining the pros and cons (bugs for example) of ClickUP and its pricing tiers?

I could, but I don't see real value in it. Prices are changing all the time. In most cases, you can negotiate an enterprise terms. As for bugs or missing features. ClickUp is updating their product weekly. So, by the time I finish the video, old bugs are gone:)

@@ITProjectManagers It is. I'm in the audio visual industry so some of these will be waiting for hardware availability but still it is a lot on the mind. My coping mechanism is to set time boxes for each project where I focus solely on one project for 30mins-1hr (depending on the complexity); if I finish the task in within that time slot then I'll do something away from my screen until the next time box.

Godamn! I am also on 7 external projects! I was a junior dev, but I was so organized the company "promoted me to PM" and threw 7 at me LOL I got my systems really oiled up, and I am amazed I can actually do it. You can do it guys! Get organized and smash!
