Did you ever tested with very dark scene? Di you noticed enought nuances of dark details? Is it for you in any way helpful in keeping the relative contrast on a sufficient level? Just for reference, in 2021 Dune, towards the end when they are chased by the Sandworm. In some screens i can't tell apart the details of the scales, the teeth and maybe the clothing. Others (but much more expensive) manage hdr flawessly. Can i have you opinion about the behaviour of this fabric in those scenarios?

Why is it called the Golden version, shows a gold statue, but they supply it in lead? Is the newest one in a gold-type metal?
@diyhometheaterguy2 жыл бұрын
Good question! I'm not sure why they call it the golden version. I think it has to do with the details offered with the kit. But even then most of us add things to the kits to make them unique. Like for mine the shingles and all the LEDs. With mine, all of the pieces that are gold are coated in my lab gold coater or I did in gold leafing. I also know that my golden version is different from my friends, possibly little older. His can be seen on his channel if you search for Boiler Dan. He also has been using gold leafing. Same kit except for some minor parts, but we are doing the finishing and building different. I do have to say that the Golden version is better than other kits of the pearl that I have seen. If you decide to build one, myself and Dan are happy to help! I'm in process of moving to a new house so it might be February before I can update more on my build!
@HAL9000.2 жыл бұрын
@@diyhometheaterguy Thank you for your detailed reply. I really appreciate it. Very strange the guy at ZHL shows a golden item, calls it golden, but supplies in plain metal/lead. Things like that make me wary of buying because of the misrepresntation of a product. I've had my eye on the bigger all scenario version for years. This one stood out because it's half the price. Shipping is expensive, which is what's held me off, plus I wanted to see what the quality was like, so thank you for your videos. The optical layer is designed to block ambient light from every direction EXCEPT for from the direction of the projector.... so that comparison was not very helpful considering that you literally had tons of sunlight coming from the ONLY direction that ALR screens do not reject light from... lol obviously they can't be rejecting light from the rear, or they'd be rejecting the projector's light source, so let's get a valid comparison please. Even with the curtains closed It would be a massive difference.
