XY Screens Black Crystal vs SI Black Diamond Review

This is a review of the XY Screens Black Crystal projection screen. This is after 1 year of use and shows the build process, quality and durability. This is 133" 2.35:1 thin edge (I don't remember the name for this sorry!) screen. I was not happy with the picture at first so invited a local company over to compare it with the Black Diamond. I was impressed! I wanted to see how the screen performed and held up over time and I can say that after a year of use, this screen performs! Special thanks to the local rep who allowed me to film and show the comparison of the different screens! Clips are from Captain America Winter Soldier. U KNOW VAVA CHROMA Short throw projector MY fav one , gonna release next month , thinking getting these XY screens , they make a really good ambient ALR screens bigger an 120" for short throw projectors like VAVA goes all the way to 150"...looks great!

@@elmalloc comes to Short throw laser projectors NOT those ones u have , VAVA GOT A great pic quality & feathers & best of all in lower price compare to new , LG , Samsung & Hesinse LG9 is in $5-$6000, as basically u paying for brand name not for the Projector, I got the VAVA CHROMA with 120" ALR screen for $2800 on the BEST promotion deal of the year, they had on launch day back in September 13th ! VAVA is THE thing in U.S , but they are new & is American projector from Sanfransico California, the first VAVA came on 2019 & kicked all the short throw projectors in the a** in pic quality & feathers & of course the price, ALOTS videos in You tube about it & they doing the same thing this time around with this CHROMA & sold many of them in millions in Indigo on launch day!

Any reviews on Screenpro T-Prism screen? They claim to have a similar sawtooth screen surface like the PET crystal but they offer screen size upto 150inch.

I just started to build my own home cinema .... Ordered XYScreen yesterday ... I have a question which is how height from the floor should the screen be ?

Good question. The height depends on the size of the screen and viewing position. Typically our eye height sitting down is between 42" and 48" from the floor. You would want to divide the screen height in 3, and have your eye height level with the bottom 1/3 of the screen. So from the floor to the bottom 1/3 of the screen, somewhere between 42" and 48".

Hi there, I am looking for some help with a new screen. I am currently using white blackout cloth with my LG hu810p laser projector. The lumens are 2700. What was the lumens on the projector in this video? And does this screen come in 110? Thanks in advance for your time and help!

I love this! I’m building a movie theater in my backyard and trying to get a 300 inch screen in 16.9. I see this company makes up to 400 inch screen. If you have any special contacts to help please let me know thanks! Chris

Hi can you go edgeless with this ? Also do they offer 142 inch acoustic transparent?

This design is what they offer for zero edge, I don't know if they have anything else, but I think if you wanted true zero edge you could build it and not put the outer frame on. That would be true zero edge. As for the acoustically transparent screen they do offer the material and any size. I am using a panasonic pt-ae8000u projector. I'm not sure what you mean by to dark.

@@diyhometheaterguy Is the projected image bright enough? According to the data sheet, the projector has 2400 Ansi Lumen that should be bright enough. Lcos projectors from Sony or Jvc usually only have 1700 - 1800 Ansilumen. Are you satisfied with the manufacturer XY Screen?

The optical layer is designed to block ambient light from every direction EXCEPT for from the direction of the projector.... so that comparison was not very helpful considering that you literally had tons of sunlight coming from the ONLY direction that ALR screens do not reject light from... lol obviously they can't be rejecting light from the rear, or they'd be rejecting the projector's light source, so let's get a valid comparison please. Even with the curtains closed It would be a massive difference.

The gain on this is 0.8. It's identical to the black diamond of the same gain.

Their black diamond and slate seem like they're supposed to be separate products, they don't call it black diamond slate, so I'm assuming this is just slate and not the darker black diamond.

I've been looking into this company, but they're little sketchy their emails they send back are in broken English. And they're not really answering my questions. It worries me to drop $1,180 on a Chinese company (that's the price they have me for a supposed 150" ALR screen shipped)

They legit. Bought 120" ALR screen with eyelets directly from them via alibaba (they have golden supplier status there with positive reviews all around the world) in the middle of november and my payment protection expired long time ago but my screen finally arrived today (Russia). I paid $100 for cheap (and therefore slow) "to the door" delivery and they somehow delivered it without need of paying taxes which is cool. Also on some point, about month after shipping, i was contacted by the scammer who knew that i'm awaiting goods and wanted money for "delivery", xyscreen agent told me to ignore him. So that's my experience with them.

🤔 either that or it may just be time for a new bulb. But Panasonic has some 3lcd lasers you should check out

Hate when people try and make a comparison with apples and oranges. Also hate people that review things and don't disclose the connection to to company, phony review.
