Too bad this guy skipped over gliders which led to the Wright flyer. Example: Sir George Cayley (1773-1857) built the world's first hand-launched glider in 1804. It was five feet long and was the first example of the configuration of a modern aircraft, with separate systems for lift and control. Cayley deserves to be remembered as the first aeronautical engineer. Also missing is rocketry which led to the space shuttle and moon landings.

Oh my goodness, where is the credit to Gustave Whitehead in Bridgeport Connecticut beating the Wright Bros. by 2 years in 1901 and possibly as early as 1899?

It wasn’t uncommon for a rival suitor for a lady to either goad a rival whom they knew they could easily beat into a duel .. or employ someone else accomplished in the art of dueling to act as proxy ..

The reason it is under Imperial rule is due to the fact that the United States is a foreign corporation held in the city of London. Look it up, it's a business. Also, pay close attention to the banking act.

According to the federal government A. U. S citizen is one that is born in the 10 square miles of Washington DC and/or its Territories, such as Puerto Rico or Guam. If that is not the case, then you are something else claiming to be AU. S citizen by proxy by Cor even. Out of negligence

The thumbnail only shows African Americans. During the seminal period of jazz (1917-1931) white bands and musicians were equally as influencial and active in the U.S.

Gore Vidal, a novelist and distant relative of Aaron Burr wrote a book titled "BURR', in the book he claimed that Hamilton accused Burr of an incestuous relationship with his daughter. Vidal also claimed that his family had letters written by Burr to his daughter that may corroborate Hamiltons claims.

No No and NO !!! This got a lot worse when Burr trying to stay in politics was in the process of shifting to Kentucky . The Kentucky legislature was so much against Burr that they wrote a clause into the OATH a Kentucky Governor swears to become the Governor . In that oath the person has to swear they have not fought in a duel , thereby keeping Burr from ever becoming the governor of Kentucky !

A better theory is Hamilton cheated and used rigged pistols with a set trigger. Burr did not know about the set trigger, Hamilton set it and then accidentally fired too soon. You need to update this.

Hamilton's brother in law was a professional duelist. When the pistol set was auctioned off in the 1990s, the gunsmith restorer found a hidden switch built in the trigger mechanism. This switched the trigger pull from the normal 5 pound pull, to a hair trigger. Whether Hamilton knew about it and fired high accidentally prematurely, or not will never be known.

Yeah so moral of the story Hamilton was a REAL man, and Burr was a sore LOSER. That’s why no one knows Aaron Burrs name and Hamilton has a whole musical about him.

The first thing that comes to my mind is Hamilton stating that he doesn't believe in dueling etc yet he went ahead with it. So evidently his warped, although normal for the time, idea of honor was greater than what he stated his morals were. I have no sympathy for him because he went ahead with the duel. He could have said no. Considering they both consented to the duel I don't think it was right to heap trash on Burr's head the way the things did. They were consenting adults and Hamilton could have said no.

You are missing a whole big part of the history. Glenn Curtiss!!! He even got american pilot license #1, won the first airmeet in france. Is regarded as the father of naval aviation. Trained american pilots in san diego. Created the most built plane during the first world war (JN4) which was used to train pilots in the UK and later used for the us mail. Developed the idea of the air carrier (and tested it with the american military) and created the plane that flew for the first time across the atlantic (NC4) among many, many, many other accomplishments.

Odd that two such well placed men could not find a proper matched set of dueling pistols. Such guns were almost always smooth bore and not particularly accurate even at close range. The object of the duel was not to kill or injure but to see if your opponent had the stones to show up.

Dang. Hamilton sacrificed his life so that duels will lose favor. It was already outlawed but now mentioned with disdain for a waste of life. He won in the end.
