Hi. Appreciate your honest reaction but it seems you're not very familiar with this type of music and it might be hard to get into and that's totally understandable. Though I immediately fell in love with this band, some others simply don't understand it and that's fine. It's not for everyone, definitely. Also this is one of the older songs from this artist, who was rather young when the song was written. His more recent music is much more refined and frankly, much better, so usually reactors these days start from songs like "Time", "Sons of Winter and Stars" or "Loneliness". If I recommend Wintersun, I would not choose "Starchild". It's never been among my favorites. The song would benefit from a proper intro and being longer overall so its different parts would have more time and space to "breathe". The song "Sons of Winter and Stars" has a pretty similar thing going on than "Starchild", but it's done "right" and as a result it's a far better experience for the listener.

I was low key hating but the album isn’t BAD it’s just not what I’m looking for. There’s a couple songs I’ve been going back to but idk it’s just not for me. They sound better so I’m happy they’re healthier. Production is good but that’s expected. It’s a lot more complex which I don’t love but that’s fine. I kinda wish they’d stop rapping about drugs since they’re sober now. Seems unauthentic.

@@solidboss1738 I can see that point of view but I think artists should be able to talk about things in their life. They have evolved their lyrics even though it has the same concept examples being scrim talking about wanting to have a kid, his marriage with sage, and getting sober. Ruby talked about his life since rehab, how they never gave up an how theyre here at the top but still unhappy, and how hes sober from hard drugs but still smokes weed. Not to mention The roses song being a complete 180 in terms of atmosphere from their other songs, its almost hopeful. I think if I were to want something new from them itd songs about how their lives have changed since off drugs and what they do now to cope with such things. (Even though scrim has talked about his relationship with god so they kind already do)

@@gloomtalkz yeah that's true but not to be one of those fans but the music never really hits the same like their old stuff, but using the same flows n satanic shit would get old too n constant Memphis samples. I do agree that this album was basically all good songs for the most part and like someone else said they found a good balance between their old and new sound.

Yo im half way through this reaction and i gotta say some shit quick before i finish it... i feel like you have been pretty fair so far to where you are actually liking it... i feel like the album after i wanna die in NO, (SSATS) left you with a mentality of looking for things to hate... there are songs on SSATS that i will 100%skip... but ruby did amazing like he did on IWTDIN and scrim def missed because he was experimenting with his voice... IWTDINO ruby did fantastic but your rite that scrim was actually dying and i respect you for saying he needed help... no matter how much you have hated a project you never wanted them to die... but i feel like if you let go of that feeling of looking to hate the music you'd appreciate the last 5 projects more, i love the yin yang tapes a TON because its fun and the bars are insane if you get past the voices... you should relisten to the whole thing tbh... SMALMST is also a fucking beautiful project same with DNS3 the shakewell one was solid but not my fav... try and not have a predetermined expectation to hate and seriously listen to what they have been putting out the past 2 years... 5 projects in 2 years is insane... 300 MILLION streams in the last 30 days alone... #1 in vynils, #2 in rap billboards... 14 BILLION streams on spotify alone... I'll comment under this when i finish and say my final thoughts ❤

I just finished it and tbh you seemed 95% positive... you see the progression and you weren't being hateful... that enigma guy in chat might have an iq less than 50... every message was the most braindead shit I can imagine... ruby tbh is the BEST lyricist on the planet... some songs scrim does better than ruby which is cool but the way ruby has wordplay is unmatched... better than em in his prime... his syllable rhyming is better than bones or busta or andre 3000... enigma compared them to icp which is actually a down syndrome take... I dont know how that dude functions day to day... but dawg relisten to the yin yang tapes and relisten to sing me a Lullaby I swear they are amazing... if you ditch the hateful mentality of thinking about stop staring at the shadows left you you'd be amazed at that entire project... long term effects of suffering also left you with a bad taste and same with me but now I appreciate it more after this album even tho it has some skips in it...
