Nice to see you back on the road. Do you get paid on the deadhead miles? I've only done 5 loads since starting my cargo van business and I'm trying make it a practice to have no deadhead miles since I don't make money off it but my plans haven't panned out just yet lol.
@EverydayImRussellin13
@EverydayImRussellin13 15 күн бұрын
@itzreece6347 nope, I don't get paid on the deadhead miles. my dispatchers have negotiated and got a little more for a load if I had to deadhead a long way to the pickup location. Deadheading is a part of the business if you ask me. You don't want to sit for days in a market area that may be really slow and you're having a hard time getting out that area.
@itzreece6347
@itzreece6347 15 күн бұрын
Same here bro, with just starting I came to that same conclusion of not wasting too much time trying to get a load heading back from wherever I'm at. So I deadhead as well. I at least try to get to a known hot area or when heading back I occasionally check to see if any loads are along my way I can grab. Safe travels and stay Russellin' It bro.😎

Rookie mistake. The 1st thing you need to do is calculate your expenses. You should know your truck inside and out so to figure out how much fuel you’re going to burn on the trip is not difficult if you know how many miles you are traveling. Basically this was a 1000 mile trip to make $300
