this camera isnt great for video work because of wobble effect search "a6400 rolling shutter" but for photos its amazing

Ruskman's film everything bundle is what you need in your life. Huge collection of last and current century film emulations with lifetime access to new packs that are released. Haven't bought another pack since fall and don't intend to for a while.

Zv is more a vlogcamera, pictures are good but not good as A6400. A6400 is more for photography and excellent photos and the video is not good as zv. Zv is really good for video but terrible for pictures.

They are wireless, which is super convenient obviously. Shotgun mics sound better in my opinion but only if they are really close to you and it’s more work to set them up with a boom arm to get them that close. I tend to use shotgun mics more often now, I made this short a while back. Some of the other wireless mics like this like the new wireless DJI mics and I believe the Rode ones as well have 32 bit float which essentially means you can never clip your audio which is a pretty sick feature to have and you don’t get that with many other mics.

Yeah that’s a good deal. The kit lens is good to get started with, but would definitely recommend picking up a cheap prime lens as well, like a 35mm or 50mm F1.8, you’ll notice a big difference

I get it for bigger drones, if you accidentally crashed a big drone they could do some serious damage, so it makes sense to put some kind of weight limit on it. It’s pretty easy to crash a drone if you’ve never flown one before

Yeah I shoot video almost entirely on a tripod with this camera. Most of the time when I’m shooting handheld with my other camera it’s for slo mo, so since this camera doesn’t do 4k60 or higher I never shoot handheld anyway

I got this camera in January this year for photography, and I love it so much! It's a dream for anyone on a budget, since there're so many cheap lenses for it. And more coming out. And also if i ever want to upgrade to full frame sony - I can use the same lenses as well. It could be probably said about any sony aspc, but I got it after having sony nex-5t for almost 10 years, so the difference was mindblowing

I got an a6400 back in 2021 from my school as part of my tuition costs. I used it for like 2 classes and then it gathered dust on a shelf. I recently got back into photography and brought my a6400 out on a shoot to document a mini golf tournament with some friends and I have to say I really am falling in love with this little thing! Makes me want to only go for smaller camera bodies in the future.

All cameras are worth it. I still use an a6000 with with well over 100,000 shots through it, as well as an a7iii, still use a yashica tlr film camera as well. An a6000 can be picked up used under $300. Original a7 can be had used under $500 if u rather have full frame. Absolutely zero reason for a new photographer to get a new top of the line camera. When u can get photos literally just as good with an older camera. Save ur extra money for good lenses. The. A few years later upgrade the camera body and continue to use ur good lenses.

Lol I just commented about similar. Drives me nuts when photographers push top of the line gear. When 15 years ago the best cameras that made people millions professionally are arguably worse than budget consumer aspc cameras today. People can make a living off using an a6000 today.

I should send a pack over DM if you interested One thing I wish you did mention about editing your own photo from scratch, it’s a much better way to find a preset you like and then continue to tweek it and save the different versions overtime and then you’ll develop your own editing style with your own preset

I’ve never used the 1.2, but it is significantly bigger/heavier and more expensive for only a slightly bigger aperture, so I can’t see how it would be worth it considering how good the image quality is on the 1.4

The lighting is more important than the camera. You can get really good looking footage out of an iPhone with good lighting. You can’t just use a good camera with poor lighting and expect it to bridge the gap. Sure, once your lighting is dialed you can improve the quality of the footage with a better camera & lens, but an iPhone can do just fine.

I don't know if you have watched all the tutorials that come with the Shortstache presets but to me it looks like you missed the point of these. The Shortstache presets are not a "preset" as the name suggests. He says you don't apply them and the modulars and be done. There is a lot more to configure in the process and he teaches that in those tutorials. His aim is that these Basesets help you to build your own presets that you can save. I work with them for years and build my own style around them. One of the best post production investments of my career.

I randomly found Jared Polin's v1 presets, and they're actually pretty great. I used them to base a few of my own presets with minor tweaks for my style and camera. I don't recommend most other presets I tried, but I do recommend these. IMO the biggest issue with presets isn't whether they're good or bad. It's that they probably won't work for you as you develop your own style. For example, I generally do a "clean edit" where I don't change the tone or colours of an image, I only want it more popped or subdued. So all these dark & moody, sepia, etc simply don't work for me 95% of the time.

My favourite ever preset is MellowHorizon by singer/photographer/videographer Ryan Harris. I use it for a vast majority of my photos. Shout out to Ted Forbes film emulation presets for when I want a filmic look.
