Thanks everyone for bearing with me over the past 3 years. I took some time out to concentrate on the kids. The railway became wildly overgrown, but after finding some enthusiasm and some kind comments from those I know and on here, I decided to bring the Washing Line back! It’s going to be slow progress but feel free to join me for the journey!

Hey Josh, hope all is well. Just wanted to say that your Washing Line was a big nudge and inspiration to me to finally build something in my garden. It was proof a garden railway doesn't have to be ridiculously expensive or dominate the entire space! I'm still subbed in case of any update, but no hurry, I know life with a toddler can be tough. Thanks for sharing your projects with the world!

Hey there. This comment really touched my heart. I’ve decided to try and get myself back on KZfaq because of it. I’m so grateful that you like the videos and you’ve built a railway for yourself. Family life is busy and we are now expecting twins next year, so be prepared for more videos of the railway as I wont be going out much! All the best Josh

@@joshw6226 Thanks for the reply and congratulations! I built so many models when my daughter was an infant because she needed near-constant holding to sleep the first few months... sleeping baby in one arm, painting or building with the other. Something worthwhile to do and keep me awake! I'm still working on the permanent way but I built a loop of track that I can bring out when I want to run, which can become permanent once I've finished the raised bed for it. Always more digging to do though, and that's a bit tougher to do while keeping the baby from eating the grass. 😁 All the best to you and your family, and I look forward to the eventual return of the Washing Line!

Ive only just discovered faller trains but as my prototype is Indonesian and japanese narrow gauge theyre perfect. For £30 or so you cant go wrong. My track isnt down just yet but almost ready to run trains. A test i doors showed thry handled steep gradients really well

I'm not a customer (yet) but I do really appreciate their 3d printable modular track (free download on their site). They use it in their demonstration videos and it's great for getting started or running small models indoors in the colder months.

Hi Robert, I know this may sound tantalisingly tease worthy, but I did cut the grass and unearth the railway the other week during that period of good weather! Then the weather turned rubbish again so I never got anywhere. I’ve found that I no longer have any working locos, so I need to sort that out. Ive brought some of the hand built stock into the house to avoid any damage from the cold air in the shed, so the intention is there to try and get a train running when the weather comes back. Stick with me and I’ll be back this summer (or before!!) I’m sure :) really appreciate the support mate!
