He's wrong about the iPhone comment. More people have Android and iPhone is a shrinking market. If you want to write an application that helps "everyone", the most people, you'd write it for Android or as a website. I'd argue that it doesn't actually "understand" the meaning at all, it can only guess the next most probable word without actually understanding anything but the pattern of the tokens.
