Ugh! The metal shards issue is a show stopper for me. Is it really as bad as you make it sound? It's been 2 years, hopefully they have cleaned that up by now.

I completely understand...The only reason I myself post to YT is for memories when I get older and can't do the things i once did. Then I can look back. If anyone gets something from it then it is all good. I got some good things off your channel too. and that's why i was wondering why i have not seen any posts. Now I get it. YTing does take a lot of time! I watched the whole video. Needless to say it can get expensive!

There is a video from the Japanese series (Formula Nippon) using the beautiful chassis by Swift Engineering (I wish they made more cars) and the Bridgestone tires were doing that around every fast corner, showing that that Swift was getting every last bit of performance out of those tires.

G'day Dave, thanks for reaching out mate. Been a crazy couple of years since we last spoke... Gave up the channel and focussed on working to keep the family afloat. The transport industry was getting way too taxing, time wise, and needed to find something that was good for myself and the family. I bought a mowing franchise Feb last year to try something completely different, but something that would give me the flexibility I've always lacked as an employee. It's been a steep learning curve the last 12 months running my own business, but over time am growing organically where I can go independent and strive on my own. Cost of living is a bitch here in Australia, so the challenges are constantly there. Family is doing well, Pete is 8 now and Ayla already 6... don't blink mate, it goes so fast. Still racing every day, I finished 8th in the championship in the last season of Formula Ford. My pace has really improved the last couple of years and being able to step up to the big guys and actually race has been hugely satisfying. Rain killed it for me though, FF1600 was used as a guinea pig this season and has been torrential rain most of the time. Took the racecraft right out of it, and made it a game of survival. The Aussies are starting to head to the US for Nascar, so peaked my interest to try something else and have been having a ball turning left. A whole new mentality of racing, and a challenge I am really enjoying. Just stepped up to Xfinity last week and found the super speedways some of the best, tense racing I've ever done. Thanks for reaching out mate, it's great to see you have the success you've had with your channel. I still remember the humble "old" days when I raced you in the RUF Cup. Hope all is well with you and your family, chat soon Knackers. 😉

I can't really afford I racing at this time .If I did it would be very frustrating that this does happen .Thinking about this delema .I racing cost's to participate .I think that every participant should pay a refundable amount ,say thirty dollars .The race could have a referee ,part of the community .If someone does something obviously very dirty they forfeit their entry fee .And the race restart if too disrupted ? There would have to be consensus on the deed .And the entrant be disciplined for so many events .Would the referee be paid some thing ?

Yeah, made this video about 3 years ago now. Have since upgraded the PC and GPU and still love this monitor. If I'd just upgraded the GPU back then, there still would have been a massive CPU bottle neck with the i7 4790.

G'day mate, and thanks for the nice comments. It's been a long time since I streamed on Twitch, and I'm sure there have been a lot of changes. I used to use the auto setup in OBS for the twitch settings, seems to work OK. Also used "EposVOX" videos on KZfaq for fine tuning settings, he has some videos that run you through every setting step by step. Happy streaming. 👍

The problem wasn't your triple monitors, it was your GPU, even 2 years ago from now, you could have picked up a much better gpu for the same price as that 49inch. On a side note, Upgrading your CPU shouldnt have been your first goto, nor buying a new PC altogether. If you wanted to upgrade your cpu, just replace the motherboard,cpu and the ram. Anyway, you went down the monitor route, thats fine, you're happy with it, no big deal. 👍

So, if you had a PC powerful enough to run the triple screens you wouldn't switch then? I'm in the market going from a single 55" TV to triple or super ultra wide, but I have a 3090..so should I stick with the triples?
@GleNRG
@GleNRG 7 ай бұрын
I think at the time I might have stayed with triples with a better PC. I'm still glad I changed, though, as my room is so narrow it just looks a lot better. I still use it every day and don't regret changing to the 49inch. I'm getting the same, if not better immersion as there is no stretch that I was getting on the side monitors. Good luck with your decision. 👍

Interesting... I'm thinking I probably would have kept the tripples and upgraded the GPU first, which would be the major hurdle to any new PC build, and then later on down the line upgrade the CPU motherboard and RAM, resuing all of the other parts from the exisiting PC. That is just me though and I am an experienced PC builder (Not sure if that is the case with you or not). Glad you found a solution to your probelm though! Enjoyed your content tremendously

Thanks Bobby. Yeah an upgrade of a GPU to a i74790 would have had minimal results. A GPU in Australia at the time was about 2000AUD dollars and the monitor was around 1000AUD. I've since upgraded the PC, but kept the screen and still love it. Thanks for watching. 👍

Cracking vid mate. Just appeared randomly in my feed, you have a new sub. Well done. I've literally just purchased the new 57" Samsung ultrawide, hoping it's delivered today, and the triples will come down tomorrow. Will be a huge step up going from 1080 to 4k, but I can't wait, I may well document the rebuild of my rig too just because it won't have an overhaul like this for some time now. I've also just upgraded the wheelbase, pedals, mounts, the whole lot. I can't wait to get into it!! If you're ever looking for a league to hop in, come visit Premier Endurance League. We run GT3's and 4's in longer single driver races. Based in Aus too. All the best mate, Jimmy. ✌🏼

Enjoy mate. It's a solid unit and after 12 months have only need to tighten 2 screws in total after everyday use. I have the pedal plate level as the pedals I have required that. Your pedals may be different, so I would suggest getting them mounted before put tighten the plate completely. Enjoy mate, you'll love it. 👍

Agree with much of what you said. The safety rating penalties are insanely harsh. If your trying to promote sim racing, why in a rookie class car would you make the penalties that severe and they decrease your safety rating a lot faster than they give it back? Second many drivers mentality is bring back the checkers or bring back the wheel nothing in between, exacerbating the first problem. There is no greater pleasure than running third watching first and second wrecking one another and slipping past for the win. If there were a way to separate these drivers that would be great. If you could either opt in or not for a true formula vee racing development class. If you accumulate so many incident points over 10 races your not allowed to compete in the series class for your next 10 races. Your given 1 second chance at the series per season then disqualified from the series until the next quarter. Third, championship, why would you not have a series champion? Hell if you survived 3 months in this car you have proven your commitment to sim racing, and should be awarded if nothing else the rookie bragging rights. The champion should be a true rookie not a driver holding an A, B, or C license.

Great video mate. I'm a little perplexed however. I still play on my 7yr old build. I5 4690k and gtx 980ti. I still get 50-100 frames in daytime racing with decent graphic settings. I'm running triple 24s with 1080p
@GleNRG
@GleNRG Жыл бұрын
Thanks James, im glad you enjoyed. It was more about the detail as opposed to the frames. As I said in the video I had to turn off so much detail with all the updates over time. It got to the point where I really started to notice it, which took away from the immersion of the racing. That being said, I had a lot of software running in the background, like Obs Studio, Crew Cief, Racelabs, Streamdeck etc. I have since had a PC update and don't need to worry about frames or detail as much. I still love the monitor though and don't want to change to anything else. Thanks for watching mate. 👍

I went from a single 27" to an ultrawide 35". That was a big upgrade, but I still wanted triples. So a few months later, I got triple 27's. My PC is pretty high end, so I didn't experience the FPS issues so much. My biggest issue is that I play a variety of games, racing sims and flight sims and the worst part of triples is trying to configure every game to work properly. It's a much bigger pain that I ever anticipated. Some games required you to run NVIDIA surround, while others didn't work well with it. I just recently went back to the 35" ultrawide and now more of my time is spent gaming instead of screwing with settings to get things working. I may try a 49" in the future whenever my 35" has an issue.

I think you nailed it Pistol. The triple setup was so finicky, some games like GTA 5 just didn't support it, resulting in massive stretching. I have had the monitorbfornanwhile now and still love using it every day. Thanks for watching. 👍
