That neon green boundary magnetic strip is ridiculous! My lawn merges with my neighbor's yard. It would be an eyesore to have all that neon green wire around the perimeter. It should have been GPS guided! I'll pass!

Hello! What is the capacity of your batteries and how many minutes does one battery last?
@TechIllusion-EN
@TechIllusion-EN 5 күн бұрын
@golishevskiy I would recommend a large 5 Ah battery. You can operate the device for several minutes with this. I cannot give an exact number of minutes as this depends on the height of the grass. On average, however, the 5 Ah battery should last up to 20 minutes. Best regards

Nice video! I installed one of these recently and I find the battery life on it is _awful_. My lawn is 500sqm so right at the upper limit of what they suggest this model can do. It took _ten_ full recharges to get through one pass of the lawn over two days. The most it seemed to get through on any one charge was about 50sqm so I have no idea why they suggest it can do 500sqm? It does a good job, but it seems very inefficient also as it only progress over a couple of inches on each pass so it ends up going back over ground it has covered a number of times. I would have expected it to move over the full width of the blades, or maybe leave some overlap. Have you noticed the same? Really curious if other users are experiencing the same problems. Thanks!
@TechIllusion-EN
@TechIllusion-EN 5 күн бұрын
@johnsherlock954 Hello, and thank you for sharing your experience! I can definitely agree with the point you mentioned that the battery is quite small. However, I have not noticed that the battery life is as extremely short as you mentioned, which surprises me a little. Of course, it has to be said that the battery life depends on various factors such as the density and height of the grass, the number of obstacles and the gradient of the surface. So you probably can't generalize the battery life. Best regards

Is it possible to mow 2 separate zones without a chanel? Our frontyard and backyard are devided by a fence. And making a hole in it, is not an option...
@TechIllusion-EN

@timovandommelen7599 Unfortunately, this is not possible with the device. You cannot simply move the robotic lawnmower to another zone and let it mow there. The zone must always be accessible via a connecting piece. I have already tested a device that has this capability. An example of this would be the Worx Landroid Vision or Mammotion Luba: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m5ughZp22rC0c30.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eZOVbJyUnZnIhGw.html Best regards

I just purchased i105E, and within 2 days I have seen that also if you have little larger "bold" spots on your lawn that has little sand on it, i105E doens't go over it. Even tho you draw channel on it, or even if you ride on it when mapping the yard. I threw little grass and some weeds on that spot and it wen't over it... @@TechIllusion-EN Sure, thank you. I have a question, if the price of a brand new DLM330 is same as a second hand DLM460 (used as a sample for demonstration). Which one should I pick?
@TechIllusion-EN
@TechIllusion-EN 8 күн бұрын
@samli6001 This depends entirely on how large the area is and how heavy the appliance can be. The small 330s have the clear advantage that the appliance is extremely small, handy and light. This means that the lawn mower can be moved and turned without much effort. The larger the machine, the more power it has, of course, but the heavier the lawn mower is. This means that the device is significantly more unwieldy and is more difficult to turn and move. Everyone has to assess this for themselves. This should be included tbh, that or significantly cheaper. Robot vacuums 15 years ago had better nav tech built in. You can get a $80 vac with more tech built in. The fact that this ACS costs $250 is ridiculous. Same with the other modules. Why put in the find my droid module for $200 when you can drop in an airtag or Samsung tag in it for $20. The magnetic strip boundary also kinda useless for the price. If you are already running the boundary wire just run that for stuff.

I have this for 3 weeks and I am overall happy with it. The only problems I noticed so far are: 1) Sometimes it treats shadows as obstacles when the camera is oriented towards the sun. 2) Sometimes rain water gathers on the button area and reads false pushes, sometimes stopping on the spot without reason. 3) when returning to the station it ignores no go zones. During my first installation there was a no go zone close to the charging station and when it returned it always crossed it. I ended up moving the station and redoing all the mapping because there is no way to reposition the station without remapping.

I like makita battery powered equipment. You can buy these 18v batteries for long times ( i own two 18v makita batteries who are 12 years old and still work! ) They still new equipment for thes batteries. I bougth this mower last year and i am happy with it. Its perfect for very small yards. I use the batteries that i also use for my makita tools. I had a leafblower and lawnmower from stiga. these batteries died after 4 years and they did not sell it anymore! New ones did not fit on the old stiga equipment. So be warned for this!

I have i108e for about 10days. And i not happy. Setting it up was a nightmare (and i have plenty of open space), it can not get strong signal GPS what ever i do. Sudenly, it took GPS signal and it kind of work. Cutting patterns are good, but avoiding obstacles is still a problem (also after update). I have a wooden well in the middle of the lawn. Without vision -fence -off, it avoid it from 30cm distance, which leads to 30cm wide stripe of uncut grass around the well. This MUST be sorted out ( adding optional sensitivity/borderline from object or maybe adding manual cutting mode, like RC car). Also cutting is sometime very strange. One day it cuts very well all the place. But next day it wont cut certain spot withou reason (no obstacle there, also GPS was good). And next day it cuts again normaly. In case of the app, it is not worst i seen, but maybe it will be usefull to see after finishing mowing paths of the mower in the mowing reports. Also, "mowed ours" is not important to me, i would ruther see starting and finishing time. And i not getting any notifications from the app/mower at all (when it starts, when it finish...and yes, i have notificiation enabled for this app, checked 3 times). I had notification only once, whe it thinks i moved the base or antena, which i did not do, but that was it. Over all, my favorite rating, 3,6, not bad not terrible. There is a plenty room of improvment.

When you lost GPS, how long did it take to fix it? Do you need to do anything like moving the Navimow manually? The Luba 2 has the same issues so I used the remote control function to return it to a location that has direct line of sight with the RTK/GPS antenna. I never need to carry it back to the charger unless the battery dies while waiting for positioning. Sometimes it takes 10+ min to correct the positioning errors when it's sitting under the RTK that's hanging off my 2nd floor door rail for my "future" deck.

@TheAskewnr Thank you for sharing your detailed experience. I have already noticed that reception was interrupted, but it only took a few seconds for the robot to find its bearings again. Compared to the LUBA 2, however, I have to say that the reception is not as strong as with the Mammotion device... Best regards

@@Will-2BMorePositive I have i105E, and f**cking h*ll, I had the same issue, I mapped the areas and it shows which places are good for signal, you go with your magic wand on the spot and you get the message for weak signal, even tho it was 5 minutes ago strong on the spot, no clouds on the sky or anything that should block it. Then I rage quit over 15 minutes of retrying it, I close the app for the 10th time or so, waited like 10 minutes just tried again and suddenly it says that everythings ok, good to go, rock and roll, then fast clicking next button before that f**ker desides that there is weak signal again. Once you get over that signal madness, it works fine, but man I didn't expect the setup to be that nerve wreaking.

Edit / update: I kept the module connected to the mower, and after about 20-30 min, a message popped up in the app. It told me to activate the simcard.. Which gave me an error message. thank you for a thorough Walkthrough of the setup. I bought the find my landroid module for the vision, when I want to reconnect the landroid I still only have the QR and wifi options. I have tried with and without the module connected to the mower. In short, I am in the troubleshoot stage.

@Fiskeren26 Many thanks for the feedback! Yes, that's right, it takes a moment until the SIM card is activated and can therefore be used. It also took a while for me in the test. If the error message doesn't go away, I would contact support to solve the problem. Unfortunately, I can't help directly here either. Best regards

I was looking for a GPS robot mower, but what I have read is they don’t work well when you have a smaller yard surround by tall trees. Plus my neighbor homes are only about 15’ to 20’ from my home which I also read causes problems. With the augmentation of the visual navigation can it work better where other GPS mowers would have problems 16:59 with GPS connectivity?
@TechIllusion-EN
@TechIllusion-EN 23 күн бұрын
@dh-no2ke Yes, that's right, GPS reception can be greatly reduced if there are a lot of tall trees. The robot then has difficulty orienting itself. The camera is only a backup in case the GPS signal fails. In the long term, navigation is therefore not possible on its own. If the GPS signal is severely impaired, I would mount the receiver as high as possible on the building or possibly use the Mammotion Luba 2, as in my experience it has better reception. A video on this will follow in the next few days. Best regards

@@TechIllusion-EN What I think is needed to help people to decide even if a robot mower would work for their lawn is to show real examples of homes not suitable for GPS robot mowers and lawns which are suitable. Then explain why a particular example would not work, work, and/or the difference etc. From what I am getting from my research generally, most homes in older suburban areas would not work while more rural home are suitable. My understanding a mower which uses a wire, could work, but they mow kind of randomly, ‘not efficient” plus the cost and labor to bury the wire.
@TechIllusion-EN
@TechIllusion-EN 22 күн бұрын
@dh-no2ke That is correct. Cable-bound robots work litterly everywhere. In this respect, there are no major restrictions as with a cordless robotic lawnmower. I am currently working on a new video where I would like to illustrate this in more detail. Best regards

I have the Luba 2 that uses a RTK/Antenna. I didn't see that as one you tested on your chart. Luba is amazing and all wheel drive (AWD)...you didn't mention how to do height adjustments unless I missed it, Luba allows multiple zones that can overlap, Luba 2 app gives you options you can set for different patterns of cutting along with angles to cut, and Luba allows you to watch your cutting process using the camera on the Luba 2 rather than attaching a go-pro to record the use. You never mentioned if you can use the camera for your own use. *BUT* the latest firmware ruined the RTK signal for the Luba2 when it tries to cut the front of my house. It gives me a poor positioning error that pauses cutting. It says it was only 5% into the cutting process. I'll never finish cutting the front of my house using Luba 2 on their latest firmware (1.11.511.376). I can also manually mow using bluetooth but need to walk behind the Luba 2. I might as well buy a self propelled mower and do it myself. I'm sure the Navimow RTK/Antenna is just as sketchy with the signal since your video seems to show your unit way out in the yard. I'll buy this one but I'm 100% positive it'll be returned too. I'll keep buying and returning until an RTK becomes local to the actual device like a Kress mower (currently commercial use only). I'm spoiled with the Luba...but they need to work out the kinks.

@@troymcdonald I have the Luba 2 AWD 1000. AWESOME mower *BUT* the signal doesn't stretch to the front of my house so I'm returning it. I can't mount the RTK/GPS to the house so it won't reach. I'm getting poor positioning errors at 2-5% then at 18%, then again at 30% when cutting my front yard. Battery dies so I restart at the point where it left off after charging. I don't have a big yard but it's been cutting and charging and getting poor positioning errors since 10a... it's 4:45p rn. Again, I love it with the exception it won't finish my yard. That's a big deal for a 2k investment so I'm returning it for the Navimow i105n. I'm sure that will have the same RTK antenna issues but won't find out until it arrives on 5/7. If you can mount to the roof of your house or only want to cut the part in sight of your RTK then this is the unit for you. Btw, they only allow 1 RTK connection per device per their customer service agents. I'll buy it again if they fix that limitation. Trust me, it's worth 2k if you can mount the RTK for the best signal or ok with a line of sight mower.
