I just got my Shotkam Gen4. I would like to say it’s important to not get caught up in looking at your shot pattern when reviewing videos. It’s hard to gage the depth of your shot and can cause you to make false adjustments. Definitely focus more on where you were when the trigger was pulled.

One if the best guide vids I've watched. I recently started shooting trap, but my shotgun is for action shooting. It's a complete different sport with a complete different speed shotgun. The range has a pro that will be working with me on learning to use the correct tool for the game. It's going to be difficult due to being left eye dominance with strong right hand. This will only be for fun, so I wont be going to extremes in relearning, but this is a great explination video, especially with the addition of your cam video. Thank you!!

Great explanation, have often thought about issues of mounting the gun on differently elevated targets. What you are doing is similar to what it takes to break targets from the hip. To do that requires total concentration on the target, forget about the muzzle.

Weird enough, starting with the gun shouldered has always made hitting clays harder for me. Shouldering and reacting mid-flight has made it easier. It seems to he something to do with reacting rather than thinking. My bidy goes into autopilot when reacting, whereas starting already shouldered makes it an active process for me. I dont know if this is a problem per say, but im curious if anyone else has found this to be true for them?

are you able to change the reticle on all products or does it vary?
@Shotkam
@Shotkam Ай бұрын
Great question! Yes, the ShotKam's patented reticle (crosshair or red dot) is customizable on both models, so you can move it, select the style you want, or turn it off completely. Please keep these videos coming. I don’t know how hard it would be to do, but I would love to hear the pros do commentary during the ShotKam videos. Maybe even use some sort of telestrater to show where the reticle should be on the bad shots.

On your straightaway shots. Come in from behind, touch the bottom of the target with the end of your barrel and it will break 99% of the time. Same thing on the angles, but you must apply some lead, not too much lead or less you’ll miss in front. If you can afford to shoot 6-10 boxes of practice a week during the off-season I suggest putting in a super full choke at the 16 yard line using number 8’s until you break a 25 straight. The moment tournament season starts put in a modified choke using 8.5 shot and I promise you you’ll be breaking scores in the mid to high nineties, who knows maybe that elusive 100 straight.

Good video!. Btw, Yards, feet, inches, miles, etc. Imperial system just makes easy things difficult. It is very simple to calculate them in metrics system, e.g. with degree/RAD and meters.

I consider the front edge of the trap house roof like looking just over the gunwale of a boat, into the water. Puts my eye on the clay a little quicker. It's a vision game.

Not sure how the camera helps to learn. Ie. If you miss a target you don’t get to shoot the same target over again and see a picture of a correct shot.

Hello, I have just mounted mine and will be using it soon. So if I take a shot when the kam is on but in sleep mode and don't push the button, it won't record the shot?
@Shotkam
@Shotkam Ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment Michael 🙂 Yes, you will need to wake your ShotKam from Sleep Mode before taking the shot in order for the camera to record video. You can wake the ShotKam by either closing the action, bumping the gun or clicking the control button. Here is some more information and a video on our Help Center: support.shotkam.com/hc/en-us/articles/9538950249741-Recording-and-watching-videos-at-the-range. I hope this helps!
