The "Egg Church" looks like the Legion of Doom Headquarters in the Superfriends cartoon in the 70's.

We drive by this location regularly going to the lake like last week,it’s mostly gone (the fuel pump,signs). I always try to tell the story with family members as we drive by but seems irrelevant these days..Back in the 1980s I lived in Binger and went to school there,there was a house on down the road that the people sold minnows. lot has changed.thanks

It's intentional. What you aren't hearing is Simmons Bank owns most of thise builds. Then majority minority in the City of Pine Bluff is Black their hope is that they will move out of the city leaving behind abandoned homes for them to come in and buy. They will then Revitalize those areas. Go forward Pine Bluff doesn't need one penny from the citizens to upgrade businesses. They didn't need it for decades so why do they need it now? Everyone in government has an agenda and it has nothing to do with the betterment of the city. They are only interested in bettering themselves and their circumstances for their families. Most of which is happening through misappropriation of funds. The buildings redeem historic so they should have been placed on a registry to receive funding. Instead they sent vacant causing those who made consider the city as their permanent residence to look pass the city on to White Hall a City built on the tax paying dollars of Pine Bluff.

You missed one of the most dramatic set of structures in OKC. OKC sits on a hugh pool of oil. Up until the 1960s looking across the skyline the most notable feature(s) were hundreds of oil derricks. Almost all are gone now. I was glad to see that gold bank on Classen is not on your list because it is still there.

Columbus Elementary was too old with tight spaces unable to use properly so may have had plans for demolition much time before occurred. Also, the school would have Halloween Haunted House parties for the school children and their families and friends and for that reason may have the need to be destroyed, but as said, probably with the intention of already knowing would be. I know, I was constantly there.

FYI to Abandoned Atlas Foundation just wanted to let you know that in the last couple of months 6 juveniles have been caught on campus and all stated that due to this video they wanted to come see for themselves. Now with that said they were released into the custody of their parents with a dire warning that if caught again on campus not only would they have to go before the federal judge but their parents also would have to appear with them.

Anyone remember the Oklahoma theater center on the west side of downtown. It was sold and then demolished to make way for 4 20+ stories office buildings that ended up not being built. It was an eye catching building with a futuristic look. I remember getting to watch plays there free with members of my high school drama class in the 70s when we ushered on Sundays once a month. My favorite area was the wishing pool by the entrance that had lots of coins in it less a few wink wink! There was a big controversy about tearing it down.
@AbandonedAtlasFoundation
@AbandonedAtlasFoundation Ай бұрын
Are you talking about the stage center? Because that was going to be in the list! But I didn’t want too many Oklahoma City locations. I think that deserves a video all by itself. It was a really really beautiful building if we are talking about the same one.
@dwightanderson8331
@dwightanderson8331 Ай бұрын
@@AbandonedAtlasFoundation it may have changed to the stage center later but in the late 70s when it was fairly new it was called the Oklahoma theater center if I recall it correctly. On the outside it look futuristic and colorful. We're probably talking about the same building. It was not a popular decision to sell it and tear it down. It should have been protected somehow it was iconic.

The place I work closed it was a church and they moved into a small building while I used to be a tax office. I asked him what they wanted to do the owner and he was the tax guy and he said just throw all that stuff that's out in the building just just throw in the dumpster.. that was a people social security numbers etc yeah there's not a lot of unless you want to try and get some medical information you know say about yourself then it's hard to do but you can get it on everybody else including their tax information...
