Thank you for sharing. I just got a breeding trio who will be old enough for breeding in fall. They are our first experience with meat rabbits. I had weight loss surgery a year ago and have struggled to get adequate protein since surgery. I appreciate learning for people like you and the stories you share. I just found you last night.

You seem to be torn between meat rabbits and "Show" rabbits. What is your recommendation for a "pure" meat rabbit producer who is not interested in showing the animals?
@TealStoneHomestead2 күн бұрын
I’m not torn. This is a lifestyle and I like having a unique breed. For anyone that doesn’t care about the breed and just wants to produce meat, the New Zealand is the best.

Have you tried medical ketogenic diet (checking blood ketone levels)? Has helped my adult child who was in institutions for several months. Apparently it helps depression as well, in some cases there is immediate cessation of symptoms. Do your own research, but it helps so many things that I'm guessing it will one day be known as a "cure all" for mental health problems (though other micro nutrient issues and toxic loading likely need addressing too). Bless you for your amazing efforts with rabbits, we are just starting on our journey with these amazing mamals.

A medical tips and setup video would be great. My wife's grandfather raised rabbits in France theough WWII, and I wonder what plants and natural remedies he employed. He raised them for decades afterwards, but sadly I was not interested in such topics back when I could have asked him. Great video, you obviously have a wealth of knowledge and experience!

Do you vaccinate all your baby kits? Our kits are 2 weeks old today and I have never raised rabbits. Also, when do i begin introducing hay and pellets?
@Aiden3885 күн бұрын
I usually introduce alfalfa hay and pellets at 7 to 8 weeks

I've been learning from you for years and really appreciate your channel! I have been looking for a video by you on how to tan rabbit hides and can't seem to find one. Would you consider doing a video on this?

I've been watching your videos and have learned so much. Just got my first trio consisting of a Red New Zealand buck and two Red New Zealand / Champagne D'argent does. Built a hutch system very similar to your original and will be making grow-out tractors similar to yours this fall when I start breeding them. Thank you for the wealth of information and the great-quality videos!

Hoping everyone, including you, is doing well. I've really enjoyed watching your videos. The ups and the downs. They helped renew my longing for a more homestead way of life. Something I keep putting on the back burner of my mind due to my living situations making it impossible. I have managed to convince my current landlord to allow me to place a small coop and run in the back for a few chickens of my own. So again, Thank you for the inspiration and renewal. And best of wishes!

Love your videos! So, honest and the word processed is so smart. I wish more people would watch you to understand where they get their food. Also, showing emotion for sick animals and your empathy is unmatched.

My goodness… I went to your earliest comments this video received and people are absolutely nasty to you! I am so so sorry people are so horrible to you! I greatly appreciate this video as we are looking at getting rabbits for this specific purpose 💚 my mom raised rabbits for years for meat and so I’m going back to our roots

The little window is great. The kits have to jump through it. It’s great exercise. A top down guillotine slide if you needed to separate kits would be great.

In order for one to be healthy you need to be one with your environment. People are so far removed from this that your way of life that is seems un natural. You go girl your doing amazing and living the way nature intended!

Does it matter where you place the nest box in the cage? In my case I built the grow out hutches from tealstones plans and wanted to put the box in the end thats partially enclosed. So I only need to add baby saver wire to one portion esentially. My silvefox doe is due in a week 😄
