Those were some great pick ups!! South Park is freakin hilarious!! Timmy is one of the best characters and I always crack up at all the Hell screens with Satan!! George Clinton is a great artist, don’t know a lot of his stuff but you can’t deny him as an icon!!

I’ve never been overly fond of Elvis Costello compared to how others rate him, but I’m Your Toy was god-awful, it didn’t even deserve to get that high! Then again, I listen to happy hardcore, so what do I know? 😉

GBH were a fantastic punk band....I like them,gotta couple of their singles. Been meaning to get an album by them for a while. Shame about Save it for later / The Beat,it's one of their better releases,it's a song that grows on you. I'd be interested to now how Terry Hall/Fun Boy Three version of Our Lips Are Sealed faired in the charts ???

Yeah I haven't heard a whole bunch of GBH but i did like this one. I relly love save it for later, fien tune and deserved to do better, Fun Boy Three did a lot better with their version. It got to '#7 I actually prefer that version.

Stormtroopers In Drag was the standout for me here, that should have been a MUCH bigger single. Rather too much ropey heavy metal in this one for me

Unsurprisingly Depeche was the highlight for me here, what a great debut single that was. Also enjoyed B-Movie and UK Subs (who looked suspiciously identical to Judas Priest… 😉) Decent Who single that too, from a pretty underrated album

The Vapors sounding so Jam. A month after this release I saw them supporting the Jam 👍👍👍. It was so good I nearly turned Japanese 😉 Also saw the Lambrettas in Bournemouth in 80. I once had that Gen x on 12" with as bright pink cover. I've never been able to find it again with that cover!

It just goes to show that even by then the punk/post punk, Jam-a-like/ska/Modesk bands were of lesser 'chart' interest as Indie was set to sweep in. Times were changing fast in these years!

@@KeeTonsOfFun In the US they were little known, but Adam Ant had great hit as a solo artist "goody two shoes". In the UK in 1981 they had 7 top 10 singles and two of them were number 1 for more than 1 month. They also had a number 1 album for 12 weeks.

As much as i love The Who,i always hated that song,to me its an album filler and a poor one at that I'm afraid ☹️ It's quite a specialist type bunch on show and Shalamar,The Who and especially the poor old Shadows looked well out of place !!! Some good tunes though on offer 👍👍👍

I kinda like that who track even it is a bit more sedate than what they are usually know for. Agrerd with those bands being out of place but those were the times. We all know the great British public has always ahd weird purchasing habits when it come to music.,

This might be my favorite one of these you’ve done just for the fact of how you did that AC/DC song, they are my most hated rock band so that was definitely the best version of any song they have ever done! LOL 😂 😂 😂 The Scorpions was a pretty cool band and The Zoo was a good song!! Oh no not Mr Crowley too now that song and of course Ozzy freakin rule!! And Whip It now that one I’m surprised wasn’t a bigger hit! I guess you got copyrighted on a good amount of these songs?

I didn't REALLY need them but they were driftnet enough to make them worth getting. Ridiculous price though seeing as singles used to be 99p when the originals came out.

Not sure what you mean. I think something ahs got lost in translation. If you mean that some of these got higher than I showed please let me know which ones and where you saw the information so I can correct it. As stated in the intro, I am going by what is shown in the official UK top 40 website. This is what BBC Radio uses. I'm wondering if the network charts was different, Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.

I’ve never been much of a Kiss fan apart from Crazy Crazy Nights but I’d forgotten what a steaming dollop I Was Made For Loving You is 💩 Even Scooter’s ropey cover years later is an improvement on the original! Fair bit of mediocre (post) punk here, thank goodness the 80s were just around the corner as that scene I think had had its day a good year or more previously

Me either but I've grown to love this song. Agree that Crazy Nights is better though, I think everyone jumped on the punk band wagon and not every one could make it work. I do quite like some of these though as they were just a little bit different.

Equinox Pt 5 was a big favourite of my dad’s, he was quite the JMJ fan for a time in the mid 80s (and no doubt prior) The intro to the Simple Minds song went on a while, it was fine when it got going I suppose

I love a bit of JMJ, definitely a big influence on the synth pop movement and indeed Electronic music as a whole. I notice a loot of songs have something like a minute plus intro before they get started and a lot of them end uop being rather disappointing.
