Thanks for the video man. In 2024 cards have just gotten crazy with the parallels n such and heritage has grabbed my attention with its simplicity. My goal is to get a full set and put together a set of the blue autos (reds would be too crazy if not impossible lol).

I think PSA has nearly stopped doing OC & PD qualifiers, but still do MC & MK. Perhaps that front clete is a full MC. In the day a card with 7 centering & 9 in all other things would get the 9 oc which the hope was would have a slightly higher value than the 7. With MCs & MKs the idea is it can't have a grade higher than a 4 or something with said problem. I suppose that is why they still occasionally do the qualifiers. PSA has ways been about certain things being minimum standards compare sgc where its more about the total card. It's sort of why collectors often say sgc is more consistent. Don't get me wrong I'm not suggesting whom is better rather talking about there philosophies. Of course you probably have more experience with this than me, but it's my two cents.

So sorry about your loss. 28 is too young and it sounds like he had a ton of heart. Glad you were able to support your wife through her loss. Feel like everyone got sick at the National. Were you at the Thursday KZfaq event at The American Legion? If so really sorry I missed you. Would have liked to have said hello. Nice Smokey Joe Wood Cracker Jack - those cards are always beautiful. 1914 Cracker Jacks are in the stratosphere now. Glad there are the 1915s for the rest of us. Bought a ‘63 Mays and a ‘66 Yaz from Payne. Agree talked to him for a bit and he comes to my local regional shows. That Clemente is clean. Lots of them have black all over the yellow. Wow that ‘54 Mays is incredible. One of the Mays cards just still need. Wish I had seen that one before you! A truly beautiful 7! Wow that Clemente Kahn’s is a beautiful card. Way to slay a Clemente Dragon! Thanks for sharing your pick-ups. Agree on the best being at auctions. Even when it is not rare. My goal was to get a PSA 7 Aaron rookie - there was 1 on the show floor and it was way overpriced. There were 3 in auction previews. I pivoted and bought a ‘48 Musial SGC 8 - much harder to find and paid less.

Hey Jason. Great video unboxing and review. One thing that worries me about one touch cases are card surface scratches. Is the inner card holder wide and recessed enough to hold penny sleeved cards?

I love the idea of ProMolds with the inner sleeve. It’s part of why I like Beckett slabs too. My problem was that I wanted a solution for ungraded cards that I wanted to include along with graded ones in targeted runs that wouldn’t be vastly different sizes. These All Touch cases look slightly larger and closer to slab size, but I ended up landing on MagPros, as the customizable label and size made them fit better with my slabs.

Do you remember your first $1000 card? It seems like you are pretty comfortable in that space so I'd be interested in your origin story and how you approach that level of card today. I hope to eventually get there as well.

I'm in the process of completing every o-pee-chee baseball set that mirrored topps 65-92....its challenging , but not impossible, making friends with canadian dealers / collectors certainly help. The 4-5% quantity compared to topps seems about right, take any opc common and compare it to the # available on ebay and that ratio tends to hold. You also have to be more flexible on condition than you might accept for topps, you never know when some cards will come up for sale so you fill holes first, upgrade as opportunities allow. All said, prices aren't outrageous yet, but have been steadily creeping as more discover this variant.

They don't bring the cream of the crop to NSCC (I keep hearing that from dealers at shows especially for 90s cards, "I have those at home didn't think to bring them"). Just bringing the common scraps for the sweaty dudes to gawk at lol. Shame not much desirable/rare 90s stuff - why I don't spend the funds to go when most of what I collect can be found at regionals or online (eBay, auctions for high quality vintage)

Levi made a living on the last couple of cards for your set. Don't want to spend another 6 months finishing that 1963 set, pay up to Levi and then start the next set! 100% spot on. Lots of guys are "great guys" when folks are overpaying. Gary Moser would shoot the breeze with you all afternoon long. Doug Allen was a "great guy", of course he was shilling all your bids. The list goes on and on. Its JP Cohen at Memory Lane. You will never see his name published. Not on their website and not on dealer lists. The reason is he's a convicted felon. And his crimes were all related to running call centers for fake charities. And he did it for years. Money for wheelchairs for veterans. Money for injured fire fighters. Money for JP. Mary Ellen Gold is about the only Gold family member not convicted with JP. Four Gold family members convicted. The deeper story is somehow the Mitchell Gold had to agree to $10 million restitution with the FTC but the feds never sought a restitution action against JP. When the FTC announced the settlement with Gold the press release said the FTC case against JP Cohen was still pending. And who was a BIG BIG buyer of baseball cards prior to his conviction? Yes, JP Cohen. Who upon release from federal prison (he was sentenced to 37 months as part of a plea deal) miraculously started up a high end baseball card business. Wonder where those cards came from?????? Just another one of the "great guys" found in baseball cards over the years. And somewhere out there is the story about how he managed to also quickly become a PSA authorized dealer. Yes, those wonderful folks at PSA teaming up with convicted felons that stole money meant for veteran's wheelchairs. Friends of Joe!

Great video. Congrats on 4 Years, keep it going, always enjoy your in-depth and thoughtful analysis and content. As for hobby better today: First show I went to as an adult was in 2015 and it was dead and scummy in quality/crowd (cards were overpriced by dealers then too!); compared to today, hobby is much better esp with YT/social media resources; new product is an issue but I don't go for that stuff which keeps me engaged and enjoying the experience

For me I am trying to find cards from a specific basketball player that I PC. I trying to find alternative sources to ebay and comc. At one point comc was good at finding cards and sellers used to accept reasonable offers. For the most part this doesn't seem to be the case, as cards are overpriced and not as many unique cards show up there anymore. I wish that you could communicate with sellers, as you can sometimes be going back and forth with offers and counteroffers. Sometimes these result with a purchase and sometimes not. The longest such example took almost a week, and it was about 20 offers. Some of the cards I am looking for originate in other countries, and finding the best places to look, and also the language barrier can be tough. Countries that I am trying to find places to buy these NBA cards or stickers from include Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Germany, Spain, (former) Yugoslavia, Croatia. There are also some unlicensed cards that were produced in the USA but are still difficult to find, and late 90's early 00's Upper Deck serial numbered cards are tougher than you would expect (especially for cards #/100 or less). Any tips or tricks for finding any of this stuff would be very much appreciated. The sites that I am currently looking on are - Japan = Yahoo and Mecari. USA = beckett, mycardpost, buysportscards. China = cardhobby. I also try to find some things, with very limited success on facebook. I have tried a few auction houses with virtually no success, Goldin, PWCC, and Heritage. Apologies for the detailed post. After getting into it of solely collecting one player it can make it difficult to find stuff that you are chasing at good prices, while collecting teams or cool inserts of any players you are more likely to find good things to buy at a more frequent clip.
