Some tips I’ve heard! 1)change your socks, it sounds silly but if you change your socks between hour 8-10 you’ll feel like a new person 2) split your shift into 3-4 increments and focus on that time period. This helps so you aren’t looking too far ahead just wanting to go home. 3) protein! Protein shakes and your favorite coffee or energy drink will help you so much especially if you can’t get in a break or are lacking energy. 4) spoil yourself. Get lavender or epsom salt for baths. Bring pain patches or pain reliever for when your in pain. Don’t let a headache drag on, start treating it right away no matter what! 5) make sure to move on your days off too! (Learned this the hard way) 6) SPOIL YOURSELF before after and during, You deserve it. Do something that gives you pleasure after your shift so you have something to look forward too.

Hi Claire, love your inspiration and determination according to live your life! I'm 5 years younger than you. I'm also a mature student with disability and mental health. Who has worked his way up from college over the past 14 years while in school ; after leaving special educational needs school. For me it's worth the plenge through education perspectives! I've just successfully completed and achived top grades on my Access course in Health and Social Care. I'm going to study Bsc Psychology mental health with a placement year at Uni this Septmeber ;work up to higher level standard to become a clinical psychologist. At my school, we only did entry level based qualifications due to our cognitive abilities for thriving mainstream curicculum. I've passed everything from school, but just did 2 GCSEs in Maths and ICT but recieved a grade Gs and failed. Even though, after leaving school till now I've always worked my way up and passed every year. I have passed GCSE Maths back in 2019 on a different course, just waiting for GCSE English result next month. My next plan is to study GCSE Biology alongside my degree to have at least a science. I already have a diploma in Health and Social care at L2+ GCSE Maths. Once having English and Biology will showcase 5 GCSEs. I'm proud of all the work I've put in since! I'm not ashamed to express my biographical views this on social media platform here. We all have learning and developmental curves in our life that can either be succeeding or turning points! I'm delighted to hear your success, you've made my heart feel accomplished and spirated to achieve something in life...

Thank you so much for sharing your journey 💓 I hope you're getting on well now :) It doesn't matter how long it takes you, Nursing will always be around waiting for you when you're ready. @@ClaireCarmichael Your welcome Claire! Everything is going wel, according to my life. I love care work. I hold vast amount experience, but doing it in a nursing environment isn't suitable in terms of my health due to anexity. My Aunty is a senior nurse and she loves her experience, it's all down to how well you can cope in a busy and demnading evironment. I strongly value and respect the actual degree, as it is deemed as golden and rewarding. Just keep on thriving, thrillingly. Thank you once again for your praise, everything has paid off in a long run. My strength and determination had succeeded me with the career I wished to embark onto today. I could either study psychology mental health and become a clinical psychologist or study law and become a lawyer. I much prefer centre and office based jobs due to my needs and illnesses. I'm still inspired with your hardwork; it galvinzes everyone to become something they'd wished to achieve one day in life... xx

@Seharkhan69 Those are amazing careers! I'd loved to have done Psychology / forensics profiling! That would have been so interesting. Or law too! You have to do what's best for you and your health 🥰 always. You come first before anything. X

@@ClaireCarmichael Both courses are very populer which most students gravitate towards, as well as nursing. It all comes down to the person's personal interest. Nursing is prodeminantly populer, most students have undertaken the Access course and are now ready to go to University. One or two of them are doing midwifery. I was to become a social worker but due to mental health. I'm not able to drive. I ended up thinking for an alternative career which supports with helping people. Your 💯 correct human development is paramount before anything else. ❤️
