Converting a 1993 Hardbody 4x4 to an RV. Just gotta decide; walk through or removable.

Awsome build and looks cozy . I’m planning to build one and watching all these awsome builds to get ideas and pointers. Thanks for the vids and hope you are still enjoying the camper

Confusing to the point of distraction! Jumping from a cut or measure every few seconds might be good for teenagers with empty heads but definitely NOT the way to make things coherent!
@denden7608 күн бұрын
Way too much electric guitar. Too many close ups of cutting, drilling etc instead of showing the overall build. I couldn't figure out where you were in the build.

Great job! I am making one too, framed in steel, then plywood, then fiberglass and then from the interior removed most steel used to curve the wood. But of course removing the frame increases the resin/frp/cloth costs. Thenk you for posting!

What resin did you use for the fiberglass? And what type of rollers? Mine were falling apart super quick

think those lift jacks are in a stupid place hate to get clipped by one of those i'd atleast mount them closer in to the camper frame they stick out to far
@TruckHomeSwitzerland2 ай бұрын
They are only used when loading/unloading. Not allowed to drive with jacks in my country anyway..

Is that fiberglass with plain paint over the top? Veey few builders use it. I think it would be better than just plywood.

Gracias

I would have used a backing plate on the inside where you fed the bolts through to the outside. All the weight and torquing from the camper jacks wanting to naturally spread apart will pull those bolts through the wood
@TruckHomeSwitzerland5 ай бұрын
you're right on this one. my latest build has a backing plate on the inside like you explained ;)

Excellent work! On camper 2, what did you use for the exterior. Was that paint and canvas? We call that poor man's fiberglass here in the USA. Yours has similar construction to my future project. I will be building a camping pod for my 7 x 13 utility trailer.
@TruckHomeSwitzerland5 ай бұрын
Thanks! this was fiberglas cloth and resin, they grey paint was mixed with the resin itself. good luck on your project. ;)

Incredible work man! Working on a plan to build one myself... do you have any concerns not sandwiching the foam panels/framing with another piece of 5mm plywood? I like the look and it'd be lighter, but adding an 5mm plywood to the interior would help reinforce the shear strength of the framing. Also, how are you going to run electrical wiring to keep it hidden?
@TruckHomeSwitzerland8 ай бұрын
Thank you! I don't have any concerns about stability. The build stays much lighter like this. And the camper is wrapped in 2 layers of fiberglas all around, thats some extra strenght too. Most of the cables are hidden behind the seats, kitchen ect., but i still ned to get creative to hide them on the ceiling.
@lifeandrealestatewiththere44208 ай бұрын
@@TruckHomeSwitzerland great to hear! I’ll probably remove most of the interior plywood from my plans then. When you going to post your next progress video?
