Hey I just found your channel! By any chance are you able to make a video talking about all the other small equipment at a substation like a over view of each equipment what it's called and how to identify it? Like a buss inulator, lightning arrestors, surge arrestors, ct,pt, etc etc. As well as the preassure relief on a transformer all all that? And if it's not to much to ask possibly a small video on the general over view of a ltc...... I love you way of explaining equipment helps me learn! Thank you!!!

I honestly never knew they had electric chainsaws. And now I know why you don’t see em around very much! lol. Gas engines, as usual, perform better and last longer.

Hello, as always, you are doing great work. Increasing speed = reducing torque = less aggressive cutting. Instead of spiral stopper ring better to use C-type or E-type stopper ring, that would be faster and more convenient. And for cutting small trees and limbing you should try GS181 with bar and chain: length- 16", pitch- 3/8", gauge- .043", 56 links, this set will cut fast and easy. Thank you very much!

Thank you! I use the 82CS24 for small stuff. I like the high chain speed and light weight! It uses the setup you just mentioned but has 25m/s instead of 21m/s. Not as much torque as the GS181 though.

This is understandable, the larger the drive sprocket the faster the chain turns, but less torque. I suppose you can do the same thing with the Ego CSX5000?👍
@reusefull
@reusefull 3 күн бұрын
I can do that test, but in reverse. The CSX5000 comes with the 8 tooth. So I can make the top speed 25m/s instead of 30m/s

@jean-marcbriane7283 agreed. I think the effect we might see is that the battery might overheat less after a number of cuts even if it was a little slower. I might try it at some point.

I'm still waiting on the sprocket I ordered, turns out it's shipping from China 🙄 I couldn't tell from the video if the larger sprocket will take up enough slack to fit an 80 link chain compared to the stock 78, what do you think?

SF6 is highly regulated in California. Is there something besides SF6 for new breakers?
@reusefull
@reusefull 10 күн бұрын
They're working on new technology. I believe they have some stuff in the works, but for 115kv and up, it's pretty much SF6 unfortunately. As a worker, I'm not to keen on it because some of the byproducts it creates are very nasty. As long as we don't have to go inside the breakers it's not too bad, but if there's a failure, it's pretty dangerous. The funny thing is, once they took the PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls) out of oil, it wasn't really an environmental hazard anymore, just really inconvenient. Mineral oil is easily separated from water and the environment if it escapes and certainly poses no threat to the ozone like SF6 or deadly byproducts from arcing like SF6.

I picked up a 20 inch XCut but didn't realize it's an 80 link chain and the stock Greenworks bar takes a 78 link chain. Do you think I could mount a slightly larger sprocket to take up the slack? Where do you find compatible sprockets? I'm running the stock .325 bar and don't want to change to 3/8. I could drill another tensioning hole in the stock bar but I'm afraid of oil leak issues.

Regarding the oil pouring out of the side cover of the EGO: do you think it would help to enlarge the oil hole in the bar to more fully engage the oil port of the saw body?
@reusefull
@reusefull 13 күн бұрын
I would have to look at the alignment again, but that sounds reasonable. At least opening the hole in the direction of the oiling, depending on how you are making it bigger.
@John-cj3ve
@John-cj3ve 13 күн бұрын
I realized that after I sent the comment. Just as likely have to take a Dremel and pointed carbide bit; and elongate the oil channel in the direction of the oil port on the body.
