I put the two most powerful cordless chainsaws currently available against each other to see how they stack up.

Yoyr channel provides the most reliable apples-to-apples comparisons of high-power battery saws. As you make more chainsaw videos, your delivery is getting smoother and your productions are getting slicker. I especially welcome the side-by-sides, the fast-motion repeats, the figure captions, and the care you take to control for the battery watt-hours and the chain specs.

Very interesting video. The Ego seems a little better. In principle, at the same capacity, the higher the battery voltage, the power is stronger. Do other tests that I find very interesting. THANKS.👍

An excellent comparison of saws! Thanks. The engine sounds are the same when sawing. Greenworks turned out to be more resilient, and ego was a little faster. I liked that ego does not need to refine a larger saw bar, the battery ventilation in the saw itself is thought out. Speed adjustment is possible. The ego's screen is informative. Greenworks has such a screen only on the CS43 model (not yet available for sale). It is clear that there is competition between Global Group and Shervon. The last word for Greenworks). Good devices. I understand that the charge of the ego battery was 50% and that of the greenworks was 25% before overheating?

Yes, I think the Greenworks was 27% and the Ego showed 3 of 5 bars, so between 40% and 60%. Very excited for the CS43👍

I have a family of ego devices and batteries, so it made sense for me to go with the ego
@reusefull

I definitely agree that it makes sense to stay within your existing battery ecosystem (ego-system in your case). At this point, both of these saws are very capable, each with its own pluses and minuses that can be overcome.

On big logs, I swap batteries every few cuts. It litterally doubles my cuts per charge. But since I'm definitely adding the 20" saw to my 18" one, I will just swap saws every cut. My batteries are going to love me with cooling cycles!

@@reusefull the 18" EGO. I have 9 of their tools and just ordered the mini-bike. I work for a racing festival running a team of people that get the spectators out of the way in the paddock. I'm the only one that is allowed to be mobile. I've been using an electric longboard and a BMX when the longboard charges, but now I can just swap batteries and escort cars to their pits before they overheat. $1,300 tax deduction.

@TheDwightMamba nice! I am pretty vested in the Greenworks lineup, but all 80v/82v... their little dirtbike is 60v, so I can't really justify it in any way.
@TheDwightMamba
@TheDwightMamba Ай бұрын
@@reusefull I walk around at about 160-170 lbs, so I'm one of the few that will see the 28 MPH top speed. For the festival, the most I'm comfortable breaking the 10 MPH speed limit is for a car that's about to overheat. Oh.... chainsaw related. Since the EGO is toolless in chain swaps, I have 10 of them for the 18" from Oregon. I look at the shavings and as soon as they stop looking like noodles, I swap in a fresh chain. I don't cut for a living, so I'll swap them out every 45 minutes or so. Then I sharpen them up on a rainy day. It takes seconds per tooth, because they're near perfect. A ridiculously sharp chain is the battery's friend. Speaking of batteries, I wish EGO made a backpack that switched back and forth between batteries. It would solve all the overheat problems. Something like 1 minute on/1 minute off. I would buy it the day it came out.

Greenworks has - and always will be - chasing Ego's quality and performance.
@reusefull
@reusefull Ай бұрын
My experience so far, has been that Greenworks is ahead of Ego with performance in terms of output and release time... when the Greenworks 82CS34 came out, Ego didn't have anything that would remotely touch it (see my comparison with the CS1800), but that Ego seems to be better in terms of serviceability and parts availability (with regards to chainsaws specifically). I think they are both quality products with each having its own specific advantages and disadvantages, but for me, it's not a simple black and white assessment. The two things I really like about Ego, are 1) all their products are one voltage and 2) parts availability

By pressing less hard on the Ego we should have more cuts without the battery heating up?

Hi, would you recommend to buy the 82cs34 with two 8Ah Batteries, when i get it for the same price as the EGO CSX5000 with an 10ah Battery. I'll use the saw to cut spruce and oak trees
@reusefull
@reusefull Ай бұрын
If you don't have a brand preference, 2 8ah batteries is a lot of value for the same price and sounds like a better deal.

@@reusefull thx for your opinion. I'm realy glad about your vids. You'r the only one i found who has tested the 82cs34 so great an in different ways. Here in europe the saw is selled as "cramer" and there are just two or three vids for this great saw brand. Yesterday i wrote to the support if they plan to build a saw with 30m/s chain speed, like the CSC5000 or the MSA300

@maxmannsperger2816 There will be a saw coming out later this year that is supposed to be 4.3kw. Not sure of the saw speed, but significantly more powerful than anything out there right now.

I am considering purchasing a professional chainsaw. Which model do you recommend: the Ego CSX5000 or the Greenworks 82CS34 knowing that in France there is only the Cramer model with a 38cm guide?
@reusefull
@reusefull 27 күн бұрын
In all honestly, if you aren't invested into any of the battery lines, I think the kitted 60v Greenworks is the best deal out there. 20" (50cm) guide bar and it's kitted with a 8ah battery. The power difference is negligible and it has a 4 year warranty. I think the programming I the saw is newer and it makes it more user friendly $500 for the saw, charger and 8ah battery. I'll try sending a link, I'm not sure if you will have problems purchasing it in Europe or not.
