Hi, I'm a fish farmer from indonesia, we used this system as well... Many time we failed in process... but thanks from your information we can make progress and fit in our condition... The setup costs for RAS are so high that the viability of RAS as a revolutionary alternative will always be questionable. That's why, probably, as time goes by, BIOFLOC will end up being the "Big Brother" to RAS in India.

How much RAS based trout fish farm of 10 T cap will required fresh water per day or week & if RAS can control d water temp as u've said its viable in urban/periurban areas...?

Water exchange per day around 5-10% of total rearing volume is required on every day basis. Another way is looking at this is every kg feed fed around 500- 1000 L water is required to exchange for reducing nitrate level and flush solids. To produce 10 tonne of rainbow trout you need to feed almost @150 kg of feed at harvesting level . And you may need to exchange around 75 m3 - 150 m3 of water per day at above feeding level per day. Basically you can roughly decide exachange of water raete on daily feed fed amount 500- 1000 L/ kg feed fed depending on system design and filteration system in place.
