@@robertblunden7160 your clutch is bogging…what gears are you running and what size tyres
@robertblunden7160Күн бұрын
@mun33y if you watch last week, this was wheel standing with ease while it had a clutch. This week, it was the same tune, but the clutch was gone. Rovan 71cc does not work with 8000 rpm. They work their best with 6000 rpm clutch spring . 50/24 gear ratio with 7 inch rear tyre, which gives you a ratio of 48/26 overall. I need more surface area on the clutch shoes, and that's where I need a 62mm clutch set up . So if you imagine a Taylor 71cc motor running 54mm clutch. It will kill it. The Rovan 71cc has more torque down below than a Taylor 71 at a lower rpm

Might replace the seal with another bearing. It may hold up better if it gets really hot again.

Hell. mr Robert so when using the wj71 on a small bore where should the pop off should be set at? 12 13 14 15 psi?
@robertblunden71609 күн бұрын
Only do that if you are having problems. Factory setting on a Wj 71 is like 30 psi. Now, if you are having problems, you set the pop off at 20 psi and bleed down to 12 psi on it, and it sits on 12 psi all day. I did that on my rovan 71cc Max and made a big difference.
@juanmares98178 күн бұрын
@@robertblunden7160 awesome thank you so what do you mean bleed off as in set the pop off spring to 12psi? Or go down to 20 first and see how it runs then keep going down from there?
@robertblunden71608 күн бұрын
Cut one coil at one time and check the psi each time. What I said before it will pop off, say, about 20 psi, and you will see it will breed down and stop at about 12psi

Will find out today, as I am ripping it today. The very first video I made 2 years ago, when very well with a different size header pipe. I will be using that same pipe soon.. The videos that I am doing show what to do and not to do .There is a lot R&D work to do on this engine to get it run right. I was going to make a billet reed case for this engine , but the problem is the head cylinder has to be sorted out, and the pipe . SRE tried it by bolting a reed block to the case but must of failed . There is alot video's coming of this motor as I do more R&D work sorting it out.

@MayhemandMirthRC18 күн бұрын
@@glenhenning9261 we have them on the list, we are UK based but they retail here for about the same but in gbp so slightly more I guess. The problem is finding somewhere to run them without pissing someone off which in this day and age seems hard, it is bad enough finding somewhere to run our Nitro buggies. I watched your video giving the Taylor 71cc baja a blast (an absolute work of art BTW) and was left slightly underwhelmed at its performance, did it have tuning issues?
@robertblunden716018 күн бұрын
Hi Matie, I did up load a video before testing on the field. What the problem was, which the clutch shit itself. I adjusted the tune and the clutch spring break as you see in the video .I thought I leaned too much, but it was the spring break. Big bores like load and the clutch shoes had too much wear before I run it . It runs 28 mm carb, and the high needle was set 1 1/2 turns out and needed to be 1 1/8 out. Watch the video before this one and explain why. These are rocket ships when running right. Yes, all ways a problem is finding a place to run the cars.
