This turned out so good. I only recently discovered your channel and have been thoroughly enjoying catching up on what I've been missing out on. Love your creativity and design style.

This post is 1 month old, but I have to ask… Who got the desk? ~ If no one, I’ll take it! If someone, congratulations!

Making all those fabric bolsters integral to the chair assembly was a real masochist move. 😂

for the question at 2:25, as someone who is mindlessly consuming rather than creating the voice over is more important than the intricacies of the woodworking

If you are unsure of your identity, go back and look at your early content. You were and are a great woodworker, and your slightly quirky style makes you unique. Alotvof wordx to just say just be yourself.

I admire your skill and inventiveness, and the design is visually attractive, until I imagine sitting in it. That would do awful things to the human spine.

Dude, you seem traumatized by years of video comments. While I appreciate the self-deprecation, you're way too good for that. I also appreciated the "Breakfast Club" fist pump...

I haven't watched the video, but from the thumbnail I make the following observations. This is an appealing aesthetic design in a modern style, and joinery, finish and use of materials is masterful. But as the owner/operator of a human spine it looks like an ergonomic disaster. Forcing your back - particularly your lower back - into that sort of curve is begging for lumbar problems. As a friend of mine observed, people have been making chairs for 1000's of years, and only occasionally do we get one right. For your next chair, do some reading/watching on back care and posture, then do your design.

Would be cool if that circle moons that creasts a seat were made as each phase of the moon in order, in side profile. But nice work buddy

Making things for my kids to keep forever is why I want to learn to make furniture. I have one of your courses waiting for me to slowly gather materials from salvage.

I have to admit, the proximity of your fingers to the router bit on the roundovers of the circles and seat sides made me shudder.

If you do not want to loose a finger use some scrap wood to push the wood you are cutting on the table saw and some chamfers on the dowels would help lining things up for assembly.

In the '80's while sitting in a specialty wood and lumber shop reading magazines, I saw a solid wood rocking chair that weighed 300+ lbs made out of every conceivable species of wood scrap glued, doweled and shaped by hand. It was beautiful and functional as could be. The secret is BALANCE! It sold for $17K in 1986. In today's money, that would be $265K! Rock on Brother!

I’m a furniture maker but for my main job I’m a CAD designer/CNC operator that received inadequate training and I had to learn tons on the fly. A lot of where I’m at now came from using the machinery constantly and learning what worked and didn’t work by seeing what mistakes happened repeatedly and what the commonality was with them. There is so much to learn that is unique to CNC operation (chip load, feed and speeds, etc) and it basically takes a ton of time to get good at it, but it can be done.

Hey, your son looks just like my son at that age. Super cute, loved hearing him talk. Enjoy this time in your lives, it goes by quick! BUT, while i miss this age,i see all the cool things they to as they turn into adults. And awesome build. Save that chair after he gets older for HIS children. ❤

This gave me the idea to make the panels as french cleats, that opens up for a lot of possibilities and modifications in the future. Also, one doesn't have to plan the whole build to perfection beforehand, one can feel out the build for some time and then add, change, or remove modifications later.
