Though the film was in many ways enlightening in the way they mocked news censorship control and sucking up to the general population, this part was not nearly as enlightening. The 'O.J. car chase was slow because they didn't want a suicide. The coward was holding a gun to his head, so the police didn't speed it up. He knew he could get to the airport without getting caught, so there was no need for him to travel faster. Wife-beating, murderous OJ had a history of having some elitists protect him. I really hate to admit it, but I strongly believe one of my heroes, Norman Lear, was among them. He once led a Southern California based ACLU foundation that gave him good influence and was the main founder of People fort the American Way, which were two organizations that easily cleaned up after O.J. bad behavior. Norman's show Different Strokes even hyped O.J.

@andressotil4671
@andressotil4671 2 жыл бұрын
@@jrc01718 Certainly, this scene highlights a change in the American publics relationship with TV news that occured roughly around this time. Before this time period, it was widely attested that the role of newscaster was widely respected for transparency and impartiality. After the large scale commercialization of news in a 24 hour news format and tv channels being solely dedicated to news, open speculation and bias became more accepted in news and the previous reputation the newscaster held eventually died out. While it's misleading to say this is how freedom died, it was how news became intentionally polarized and biased.

CanadaMMA Oh we know what you guys in TV do. Cover up for corporations cover up corruption push war and consumerism. I hope your pay check is worth being a part of the very reason democracy is failing in this world. Shame on anyone who works in television. You guys are the right arm of the plutocrats. Pushing fear, bollocks and hate. Anchorman 2 was spot on. They even had Rupert Murdoch portrayed in it! I'm pretty sure the director of this movie was trying to tell the dumb masses exactly what is happening in corporate mainstream media and news and they still didn't get it. Anyone who works for a tv station is selling out their own people for a payslip. I hope you know that.

@@xxxxOS Well you sure showed me. My whole world is crushed. What will I do now? Seriously though moron, there are plenty of great journalists in your country right now. Like the ones being shot at by the police as they bring you the pictures and video of exactly what's going on. To paint everyone of them with the same brush is pathetic. Don't like people who work for FOX? Fair. RT? Ditto. But someone working at a local station in frog balls Mississippi, because it's the only place they could get a job fresh out of J-School is your friend. They are doing that job because they want to bring people the news. It's sure as shit not for fame and money.

How do people not do research on the Media, I mean all major networks are owned by the same companies world wide. There is a reason 1% of the world owns 99% of the worlds money, take it slow do research look at it logically if you think its all "Conspiracies". Oh the families that own all these companies (Rothchilds, bilderbergs) also own 90% of the worlds federal reserve banks (Which is a PRIVATE company ran to print money to loan to countries) Please just do research and i dont mean the News.
