Yeah, 24 hour news killed it. They stopped with news and became opinion based news to fill time. Plus each major political party has their own news so you can choose the news you want to hear.

A war between Humans and Sharks Imminent?
@milodack15996 жыл бұрын
D2attemp But Jaws was released in 1975. They said this was in 1980. Hadn't the war already begun with the release of the film that caused the mass-hunt of sharks by humans due to the false misconceptions about sharks?

Anchorman 2 wasn't as good as the original. Where it was strongest however, was the actual NEWS scenes. I work in television news, and I can tell you that this is closer to reality than people think. :-P

CanadaMMA Oh we know what you guys in TV do. Cover up for corporations cover up corruption push war and consumerism. I hope your pay check is worth being a part of the very reason democracy is failing in this world. Shame on anyone who works in television. You guys are the right arm of the plutocrats. Pushing fear, bollocks and hate. Anchorman 2 was spot on. They even had Rupert Murdoch portrayed in it! I'm pretty sure the director of this movie was trying to tell the dumb masses exactly what is happening in corporate mainstream media and news and they still didn't get it. Anyone who works for a tv station is selling out their own people for a payslip. I hope you know that.

@@xxxxOS Well you sure showed me. My whole world is crushed. What will I do now? Seriously though moron, there are plenty of great journalists in your country right now. Like the ones being shot at by the police as they bring you the pictures and video of exactly what's going on. To paint everyone of them with the same brush is pathetic. Don't like people who work for FOX? Fair. RT? Ditto. But someone working at a local station in frog balls Mississippi, because it's the only place they could get a job fresh out of J-School is your friend. They are doing that job because they want to bring people the news. It's sure as shit not for fame and money.

@jrc017183 жыл бұрын
And how did showing a car chase on the news (in a comedy film, no less) kill freedom, exactly? Please enlighten me.
@andressotil4671 Жыл бұрын
@@jrc01718 Certainly, this scene highlights a change in the American publics relationship with TV news that occured roughly around this time. Before this time period, it was widely attested that the role of newscaster was widely respected for transparency and impartiality. After the large scale commercialization of news in a 24 hour news format and tv channels being solely dedicated to news, open speculation and bias became more accepted in news and the previous reputation the newscaster held eventually died out. While it's misleading to say this is how freedom died, it was how news became intentionally polarized and biased.
